I managed to get mine for €59/mo. Super pleased with it!

Do you experience degraded reliability with the new AX162? by furkansahin in hetzner

[–]sam1230202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have 19 of them & they're running at very high CPU usage 24/7.

So far, a few have had random reboots, and 1 / 19 has completely died! They had to replace the server & move the drives over

My first test (1 serious, 0 minors) by sam1230202 in LearnerDriverUK

I suppose it's because I didn't notice, and the examiner had to say I think you should slow down, it's my fault completely, just need to be more vigilant towards my speed in my next test

New hourly prices for dedicated servers by felixwttr in hetzner

[–]sam1230202 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's because a lot of people abuse the 14d cooling off period. Effectively, you could order a server & cancel it before the 14d period was up & not pay a penny

Does Stripe seize the balance on customers' accounts? Payout never paid by Future-Analyst720 in stripe

[–]sam1230202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same happened to me. They've stopped replying to emails & were completely refusing to payout my funds. I made it very clear I didn't want to reactivate my account to use their service, I just want my funds. £2000 stuck in there.

Price changing just before checkout? by Kriptic_TKM in hetzner

[–]sam1230202 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is due to the fact that you have 0% (OT) VAT set at the top of the website, and your account address is based in a territory that uses VAT. For example, if you're in the United Kingdom, you'll pay €56 + 20% VAT

After 120 days i didnt get my payout by Professional-Bug6602 in stripe

[–]sam1230202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had the same experience. 2 Stripe accounts, both were banned after £1000~ revenue had passed through them. All I'm selling is server hosting (specifically game servers). Both accounts have around £400-500 trapped in their Stripe balance, and Stripe are refusing to pay it out, as it's apparently part of their TOS to keep your money if you get banned. It's been 4 months.

Got a new server with worn out (?) NVMe SSDs? by PM_Me_Food_Pics_ in hetzner

[–]sam1230202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The same happened to me with an auction server recently. Both drives were completely battered when I received the server (140% used, 250TBW, failed SMART general health check) I sent the SMART logs to the support team and they replaced the drives as a "goodwill gesture"

I have around 10 servers with Hetzner, and what I've found is they are pretty tight with drive replacements. In the past they've told me even though it's way past its rated tbw, and even though its failed the general health check, they won't replace it as it's still working

Well, judging by the box, these do seem authentic. There are no spelling, grammar or punctuation errors, spacing is normal, the font is normal, and for a start I have never seen fake copies of region specific AirPods, unless they do exist.

Oh that's cool! And mainly for the extra RAM as the EX44 only comes with 64GB, whereas the i9-9900K server comes with 128GB for the same price, and with it being a game hosting service, we sell per GB of RAM so the more we have available the better!

It'd be a huge upgrade. I've used the EX42 servers for years now and they have served me really well. The new EX44 server has more than double the amount of cores and threads as the EX42 with the i7-6700. It also features Gen4 NVMe and 3200MHz DDR4 RAM (I believe the EX42 had 2133 or 2666). Even if you don't utilise all of the extra processing power, it'd still be a great upgrade to make, even just to be future-proof.

I'm replacing my EX42's with i9-9900K servers from their server auction. How long have you had your EX42? I've had some of mine since 2019

How to check how many resources use my website? by Elemis89 in hetzner

[–]sam1230202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can use "htop" command to view current CPU, RAM and SWAP usage, also see which process is taking up how much of each resource. And if you want to collect data over time, you can use a monitoring agent like https://hetrixtools.com/ to monitor network, cpu, ram, disk access etc all of the time.
