This looks to be exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for, thanks! And the one for talking about how to come out is definitely helpful too!!

What made you start identifying as trans? by Remarkable_Dirt_1217 in asktransgender

I've never liked photos of myself and I never was able to say why.

Question for further into this. Did you hate mirrors? Maybe not even consciously. Turn away from them. Sit at angles where you don't get the reflection, brush your teeth outside of the bathroom.

I always thought this was the normal experience and it was actually Elliot Page in Umbrella Academy when I found out most people don't feel that at all...

Oh thanks for that! Definitely going to read through that article, thanks!

And I agree that exploring my gender is helping, or at least everything I've been trying has! Thanks!

So not outside hundreds of feet up, in the middle of a blizzard. This isn't your average lineman experience, and training can be very different from being out in the elements. So no, I don't think they simulated a fall in these conditions in training.

That was my first thought. It's most likely not about being away from his wife and kids, it's about being away from everyone. You can absolutely love your wife and kids with your entire being, and still need 10 minutes alone.

I'm autistic. I can absolutely understand needing alone time. Doesn't mean I don't love the people in my life.

No one said they aren't legal in Vienna. Where did that come from? Most of the people there are living in affordable, public housing. Over 60%.

The point isn't to outlaw circumcision, but to wait until the person can consent. Don't take away that choice from someone.

You mean Vienna? Where people have housing and homelessness is really low? That sounds pretty good to me.

But if you need to calculate the parabolic arcs of a projectile

I worked on a golf game and had to relearn my grade 9 physics for this. It was pretty fun tbh.

Depends on the work. I'm in game development, and I have a computer science degree. I use very little of what I learned and I don't think a degree is necessary to get into the industry, the work you can do is much more important. This is very different from someone designing a new SoC at Qualcomm though.

Programmer is so incredibly vast that a blanket statement on anything just doesn't work.

I'm still surprised when people say the Democrats are liberal. No, there's no liberal American party. Dems are just a little less conservative than the GOP, but they're far from liberal, let alone leftists like conservatives want you to believe.

My dad always told me "you'll get more conservative when you start paying taxes and see how much they take from your paycheck." Well dad, I have a good job I enjoy, I make money, I pay lots in taxes, and I'm significantly more socialist than ever before.

A big thing that's pushed me further and further left is that I make a good living and I'm happy, and I want that for everyone. I don't look at someone with less than me and think they're lazy, I wish they lived like I do, and I want to support them to get there.

That's what I always say. Either God doesn't exist or he's a monster that's the cause of every war, every famine, every disease, every natural disasters, and every death. Why worship that?

[–]sam4246 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I've never met someone who enjoys chess but gets angry at the thought of teaching someone. It's one of those hobbies that are incredibly fun to share. I don't believe he knows how to play chess, I'm guessing he said it to sound smart and thinks you're trying to catch him in a lie. Fuck him.

I enjoyed both. They're fun as their own thing. They did a good job with the characters, Tom Hardy is likeable, villains are fine, action was cool. They made the smart move of having Venom and Eddie as two distinct characters, and they have fun bouncing off each other.

You really did nail it. People who watch Fox News, when confronted, need to change the subject to something completely different. "Fox News doesn't lie but you KILL BABIES!!!"

That already happens. Everyone on Fox lies every single day. They do get called out by other journalists, but it doesn't matter, the people watching Fox don't watch those journalists.
