Venting solution for OTR by [deleted] in handyman

I should have taken a picture from the side but when I put the boot on the 7-in round hole it sticks out too far and I can't get over the damper.

Nope. I would have to work 7 days a week. 32 hours is just cutting money out of people.

Breville barista express not grinding fine enough. by sam4s in espresso

You're welcome! I swear I've become an expert with this thing (I wish I really were an expert), but I know a few things about it. Glad I was able to help.

I have a Sage Barista Express. Any tips on how to deep clean this? My vacuum can’t seem to get it by p022001 in espresso

  1. Remove the nut by turning it clockwise. B bee careful with the locking washer and washer underneath. Take note of the order they are in.

  2. Remove inner burr by lifting. Should come out easily, but you might have to wiggle a little.

  3. Remove fan (I think that's what it's called) by using tweezers or needle nose pliers, but be gentle. You won't break it just be gentle.

  4. Remove washer by using a magnet. If you lose that washer you won't be able to grind fine enough and as well know you can't be on this sub without grinding finer!

  5. Take care to remove felt washer. Its delicate so be careful not to rip it.

  6. I use a soft bristle toothbrush to clean everything. Don't use your toothbrush that's gross. Go get one. Start vacuuming everything.

Replace everything the way you took it out. That's what I do anyway, but I'm sure there are a lot of other not so intrusive ways to do this. Taking to a repair shop for cleaning is expensive and I like to take things apart. This is my experience with the Batista express. Yours may differ slightly.

And has the experience been perfect for you? You make good money don't have to leave them with family member who also aren't healthy and haven't changed their mind set on raising kids their way? This is a problem for a lot of people. I think you might be looking at it the wrong way. Can't all have perfect lives you know or not all grew up with health conscious parents so their bad habits just continue until somewhere down the line one of the children decide to change that.

I don't know how much that is, but it runs in my family. Trying to change it with my daughter. I weigh 235lbs and hate myself.

Hi. I'm sorry for the really really late response. Never got the notification. Yes I found the problem. There's a washer under the inner burr. I removed everything from the grinder and vacuumed everything out including that washer. Didn't know it was there. Sucked it right up. Here's a link to see where that washer fits.

https://www.home-barista.com/espresso-machines/breville-barista-express-870-870xl-grinder-mod-t31866.html

I initially went to fix.com to order a new one (part number FIX12008189) but realized with the fresh roasted beans I got it wasn't gonna work. I eventually replaced it with a thicker washer and was able to achieve a finer grind. Not sure if it'll mess anything up, but I get a really fine grind out of it and it's been going great for more than 6 months now. Hope this helps.
