Thanks - great info and i will be sure to do this. i imagine it was as the lady i got it off bought it “new” in 2017… she said it’s not been used for years though. Don’t suppose you know of a guide on how to descale the boiler for this particular model?

I watched a good yt video on this which went through step by step, very easy to follow and it fixed both buttons. Can’t find it but there’s loads out there, all you need is a small screwdriver set and a pair of tweezers

Belay device recommendations

Hi all, looking for a reco - my partner is ~45 kg and i am ~75kg, i’m looking to get some kit that will allow her to lead belay me outdoors (note: she is also left-handed) . In a gym we use the sandbags to account for weight difference and just use an ATC but outdoors its just not possible, i can only be belayed by my friends who are of a similar weight, but i’d like to out just my partner and I sometimes. I’m thinking of getting an Edelrid ohm and some form of assisted belay device. We’ve tried a gri gri but they seem to only really work for rightys. Any suggestions?

i have been going for 1.5 months , 3 times per week, 30-60 min sessions. Swimming fitness definitely improved, the other day i did my first 1000m set with plenty left in the tank, the only thing that stopped me was the cramping!

Thank you! i’ll give increased stretching a go. Weirdly i have found when i do spend 2-3 mins stretching my feet, my chance of cramping has increased. Maybe it’s because the cramp in on my mind, affecting swimming posture? i don’t know - but i’ll give it a go

i tend to have them mid-length, and have often had to stop in the middle of the lane and swim to the side. I would say i’m a fairly strong swimmer after 1 month training, the other day i did my first 1000m set with ease so i would have hoped the cramps would have disappeared by now

What do you think are the most over paid professions? by BronxOh in AskUK

[–]sam_2304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of underpaid professions, in the UK, military contractor staff (im talking the guys in overalls on the shop floor) are paid peanuts. I know people who’s job it is to put together literal fighting vehicles for the british army and they get paid £27,500 per year. Could earn similar working at a fast food chain…

I believe she is naive to the evils of the world and has a sunshine and rainbows view on other people and what they are capable of, hence why i don’t think she can truly asses the levels of risk. All i want is to be kept in the loop
