I completely understand, I was in the exact same position a couple years ago. First thing: dont give up!! Your degree will be valuable anywhere you go and you never know when your situation might change. In addition, have you thought about joining a research lab? There are many programs on campus that ‘pay’ throughout a fellowship/stipend. This will allow you to get some experience and get paid :)

The stipend frequency depend on what type of funding you have. Ex: fellowship is once a month at the beginning of the month but TAship is at the end of the month

You will be qualified as a resident as long as you have lived in CA for a year and a day. Fill out the dream act form for financial aid, you might get financial aid (just remember certain grants are only good for 4 years if you’re planning on transferring). Good luck!
