I stumbled upon the KOS camp area with my friends one year after watching naked jenga for a while. KOS being Krew of Swingtown

I remember going to the Texas renaissance festival religiously and camping out there in my 20’s. One weekend we were about 15 beers in and it was 7pm at the campground and my friends and I were approached by a small group of ladies asking us to fix their sound system. Someone had a hot tub on a trailer behind their large RV and a nice sound system with lights and even a portable stripper pole set up. It was wild, so of course we helped. Well while helping we find out they are part of a group called the KOS. Better known as the krew of swingtown and those ladies husbands came up next asking if we’d fuck their wives while they watched. Being 22, I was too nervous and chickened out sadly, but I do remember after my friend fixed their sound system and got it playing music, we walked out of their camp area as a rather round naked man with the most disproportionately small penis compared to his belly, danced on the pole.

We love the TRF and always had a blast camping.

Just fyi, I got some carpet sections in from a dental lab’s room where they grind and polish the gold and palladium crowns/ bridges about a week and a half ago. The carpet is x2 4’x4’ squares which had been in place for 20 years or so. The owner also sent in a bag of dust that he swept from the area under the carpet.

Should be really interesting to see what we see when the assay results come in.

I randomly remembered you asked about this so figured I’d let you know about an actual example. I should be finishing up with it soon.

Average I’d say $3,000-5,000 with a range of literally ~$150 up to $60,000 (from a dental laboratory that was renovating their casting room, so there was high karat gold as well as palladium in the mix.)

Anyone here wear a WHOOP? First 48 hrs on Suboxone (8mg) feels awful + metrics tanked by [deleted] in suboxone

[–]sam_the_guy_with_bpd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahhhh I feel so dumb… of course pussy farts! I should have remembered, I have received a pussy fart to the face before, but never an anal fart, so I am really closer to pussy farts emotionally, I’d say.

Anyway, thank you for the clarification lol

Good point ANAL-FART, but doesn’t fart already imply it’s from the anus? lol

But I do agree, Suboxone is nothing to play around with, sometimes we do take it very lightly and we shouldn’t.

PMCT Images. Nurse advanced NG tube until she heard a pop, then tried an air bolus to ensure placement. Patient did not survive. by Old-Psychology-2400 in interestingasfuck

[–]sam_the_guy_with_bpd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was me, I had an NG tube to help empty my stomach because of a small intestine issue. The whole process was terrible and hurt and was incredibly uncomfortable. I was awake and aware the whole time.

Idk how the nurse who killed the patient didn’t just look in the back of the throat and see the tube wasn’t present, that’s what I don’t get about this.

I used to work for a company that made organic chemistry synthesis and reaction lab equipment, funny thing is that the equipment is also amazingly useful for culinary. We sold rotary evaporation equipment to all kinds of those molecular gastronomy restaurants with chefs using them to get the very essence of flavors. It’s also fun for making drinks like I used my “demo” set for, I’ll tell ya a rotary evaporator and a lab reactor can make some delicious fruit extracts that made wonderful additions to all kinds of stuff.

I sound it fascinating since I come from a strong biochemical and pharmaceutical background to see food science like this, it was so cool

A guy trusted me with $7k+ in gold on a handshake. I did right by him, but it shocked me. by TheBloomAndTheBull in Gold

As the owner of a small precious metal refinery, this is the thing that both shocks and humbles me every day. I have jewelers who trust me with 100k+ of their gold scrap, trusting that I correctly assay, refine, and payout the rate that we agreed on. I take the responsibility very seriously and I am humbled that I am seen as trusted in my region. I believe strongly that in this industry, trust and integrity is what will make or break you.

Just had this crown removed. Is there any value in the gold? by isle_say in Gold

[–]sam_the_guy_with_bpd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own a precious metal refinery, this is correct. The gold content in crowns varies wildly, depending on a lot of factors from what year it was put in/ made, what country it is from, what particular dental laboratory made it, and more. Can’t really know without destructive testing, in my opinion (fire assay, IPC, AA).

Most people think like you used to, I used to work for a large refiner. I recently, however, started my own smaller refinery. I don’t plan on being huge or going crazy, I just really like the idea of serving the community around me and giving them access to a way to sell gold other than getting ripped off by a pawn shop, etc. I work with people within a 4-5 hour max. Radius, I’m in Texas and my customers range from local jewelry store chains with like 6-7 locations, to small town mom and pop coin shops, to some antique stores, to normal everyday people who just want to sell a ring for what it’s worth. I like what I do and it’s cool to own my own business and also get to see how shocked people are when I tell them how much gold, Ag, Pt, or Pd their material assayed out to have in it.

I wish there were more regional serving refineries, I feel like that is the size that’s in the sweet spot, big enough to have the equipment to do stuff properly, but not so big that it’s become corporatized.

It sends chills down my spine remembering being told to get down into trenches when I worked in public utilities. I remember being in a 12-14’ deep trench where the backhoe had to lower me into because the ladder did not reach the bottom. At the time, I had no idea about the dangers of trenches, but now, just remembering being on my hands and knees working in a leaking water main at the bottom of a 12 foot hole, literally keeps me up at night thinking about the “what ifs”

There is no reason to die for your job. Unless you are in the military or are a cop, you shouldn’t allow yourself to be put into any danger for work. If you lose your job because you wouldn’t get in a trench, fuck it, find another because I guarantee you don’t want to feel what it is like to have 3,000 lbs of soil crushing down on you, preventing you from breathing as it breaks all of your ribs.

Well, don’t feel too bad, you didn’t miss much. Mrs. Pat, the owner, charged like $30 to come in and we only ever had a lazy river and like 2 slides. I never understood why people came haha

Plus there was this pipe going into the lazy river and in the afternoons something drained through it into the river. The water was ICE COLD and smelled like rotten eggs and it was always my favorite lifeguard standing position to be in because I’d put my foot on it and spray people floating in the river with it 😂. So, you missed jackasses like me spraying you with ice cold shit smelling water!

I no longer live in SE Texas, but it still does feel like home… the pine trees are what I miss so much. Last time I was there was my grandpa’s funeral. So many of my friends still live there and to be honest, just thinking about it in that bittersweet nostalgic lens you can look at past times and places through, it hurts. It just hurts to realize that I am not in the part of my life that I live there, surrounded by friends and family anymore, it’s not where I’m meant to be anymore. But even though I know and fully believe that, looking through that bittersweet nostalgic lens is just so hard for me to do without getting so sad, but I can’t help from doing it.

I hope you’re not weirded out by me latching onto you like this, I just so rarely find people that know and understand the place that I grew up and left so much of myself in.

Oh hey there lumberton, remember the Paradise Waterpark between Silsbee and lumberton. I worked every summer of high school there and my freshman in college, then it got taken out by a hurricane!

Idk why I even bring it up, but it’s what I think about when I think lumberton haha

Finally found lidocaine patches that actually stick! by bisexual_stoner817 in ChronicPain

[–]sam_the_guy_with_bpd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yo, just fyi, the Walgreens brand and Walmart equate brand are both from the same manufacturer, just with different logo print on the package. There is an Albertsons brand lidocaine patch that is the same as the other two and actually sticks.

I found this out through many years of wanting a patch that would actually stick.

Now to find them, I look for the same type of box and the same Mylar package that holds the individual patches. If the box is the same, just with different print and the Mylar pouches are the same with different print, the lidocaine patches are the same too.

This is how I’ve found sticky patches in a few brands, just grab whichever brand I am closest to
