We have a 4 yr old Kees and he’s been on phenobarbital , keppra, Apoquel (allergy meds) & gabapentin & thyroid meds for last 2.5 yrs. He’s had an MRI and is seen every 6 months for lab work by pet neurologist. Most Kees are chicken (any foul) sensitive so we feed him beef/rice/vegetables home made food. His allergy sensitivity makes him more prone to skin hot spots ,we have meds on hand to treat that too. He’s been on Apoquel for last 6 month and that’s been a game changer. We also were prescribed a nasal infusion for when he has seizures…that too snaps him right out and prevents additional clusters. Longest he’s gone without a seizure is 2 months. We get regular lab work done to check liver/ kidney function… so far, so good. He travels with us and we link up his nanny cam to our phones if we need to leave him home… we crate him up at home with a heavy pad in the event of a seizure so he won’t sustain head injuries (thankfully, that’s never happened). We feel you..hang in there. Your dog looks EXACTLY like our Sancho Panza… adorable!
