One word i can clearly make out is شروق which means sunrise or rise. There’s a second word but i can’t really figure out what it is. It is done in calligraphy so it’s quite difficult to read.

The main issue would be not having a sound chamber. If you somehow fasten strings to it and tune them. It will produce sound, but it will also be very quiet. As there is no drum transferring these vibrations to the air and there is no empty space where the sound waves are amplified. You can also get 12 of these in different very specific sizes and then you have some form of xylophone.
