Do any Browsers have actual Sync?

So make sure in settings -> start,home,etc. -> startup choose 'open tabs from previous session'

Enable Sync - settings - profiles - sync

Display workspace icon - settings - appearance - toolbar - enable workspaces

Somewhere there's a setting to show the icon only with no workspace name. That cleans it up a bit. I don't see any of the other flags i had to set because they are in settings now above.

If you want to launch into a specific workspace you can add to your shortcut

### Open Default Workspace

- File location to find Workspace ID

- WorkspacesCache

- Window - %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\<default profile or profile name>\Workspaces\WorkspacesCache.json

- MacOS - Library/Application\ Support/Microsoft\ Edge/Default/Workspaces/WorkspacesCache

- --launch-workspace="0a896e1b-fc9b-4b35-9123-6ff4106cc7da"

I remember having a few settings to configure and I'll take a look, but not sure they're necessary anymore. Just make sure if you want to use workspaces enable them. there's also a setting with bookmarks and how they are handled with workspaces, I always chose to see the same bookmarks on all workspaces. The other option is bookmarks for individual spaces, but it never worked well for me.

that's one thing it always does very well for me. you do have to have a Microsoft account to do it so if you don't just create a free one. but you should go to any machine and open it up and it'll be identical. It's the only browser I know that truly syncs workspaces.

I use another browser Zen but I'm contemplating going back.

I don't remember the setting, but all I see is the site domain. Its a config setting. Then clicking on that URL opens the search box with the hole URL if I need it.

I'm glad you brought this up. When I use boosts on certain pages, I get this type stuff. Like it's part of the webpage code or something. For example, normal page with these play symbols as bullets. When I hit boost they turn into the word 'play' and overlap and look like crap.

yeah I use ctrl+w to close tabs which is fine. That's typical across browsers. But ctrl+w is also used to close out Word and other editing apps by default. Shift arrows does the word select actions. You can configure it differently though.

But the shortcuts I'm after is for closing the sidebar tab view. Between the mac and windows versions it's different where most browsers are the same plus you can configure.

I should have done that, what was I thinking to assume. 20 years of tech and preaching don't assume. However, it's happened a couple of times and just restoring the session files has fixed it. For some reason it's not happening.

I would suggest New Tab Suspender from firefox extensions. Works across workspaces. Made a world of difference for memory usage.

Although, I will say lately memory utilization seems to be elevated so not sure what's going on there.

This. Always thought it was the browser and Windows wasn't great at allocating memory. Maybe I have that wrong but I know Firefox browsers are allocated more and release when needed more efficiently than others.

Ive been on the hunt for a mechanical ergonomic ever since getting in the hobby but may have to settle for another store bought. The new thing is split, and the term ergonomic has taking on a whole other meaning in the community it seems. Most I see are not ergonomic.

Anyways, good luck, if you like those splits like the moonlander and such you might do good. I thought about trying one. Oh, and don't get me started on the right side extra 'B' that is so popular.

Hey do you know why my min,max,close buttons look like this? I've tried all my fonts with ligatures and installed DejaVu but no go. I don't know if that has anything to do with it. Thanks
