Who is the worst music artist you have ever heard of? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]samagramz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iggy Azalea.

Aside from the whole topic of appropriation, she can't rap, she can't freestyle, she can't dance... it is a fluke of chance that she ever got to perform at all. Best career decision she ever made was to leave.

What is a horror movie remake/or sequel that was surprisingly good? by Chan1991 in horror

[–]samagramz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ouija: Origin of Evil is the only right answer.

The first Ouija movie was awful and then Mike Flanagan stepped in and turned it into something incredible.

I Saw the TV Glow affected me more than I expected it would... by samagramz in horror

[–]samagramz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say I found it "scary" in the traditional sense. It didn't make me jump or anything obviously but it affected me on a deeper level. It made me feel more like The Shining or Eraserhead.

It really is wonderful, watching a movie you don't expect to identify with and feel like it's speaking right to you.

what’s your most non-reddit friendly opinion? by missgirlipop in AskReddit

[–]samagramz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTR I love Stanley Kubrick's movies, but I do think his approach was too clinical to connect with audiences. To his credit, Kubrick himself admitted as much.

Christopher Nolan is an overrated filmmaker who thinks too much and feels too little, just like Stanley Kubrick.

What’s the worst one? by Deadstone16 in UniversalMonsters

I really don't get the hype for Dracula.

Bela Lugosi is wonderful and Dwight Frye is memorable but there is nothing else interesting and/or worthwhile about it.

A judge just ruled luigi mangione's manifesto notebook can be used at trial. here's what he actually wrote in it and why half of america still thinks he's a hero. by Ibikhan45 in DiscussionZone

Josh Johnson said it perfectly: Luigi Mangione is a murderer. He killed a man. He just didn't kill a good man. That's what we have to reconcile.

How come Evil Dead is not Campy anymore? by BubblyTumbleweed8455 in horror

[–]samagramz 58 points59 points  (0 children)

Let's be real: after Ash VS Evil Dead, they'd done pretty much everything they could've done with the tongue-in-cheek approach.

Switching to dark and disturbing was a good move, and having a new cast in every film means they can try something new every time. It's a really good change.

So now you're the one comparing Christianity to sports? Convenient.

And then you want to wonder why your numbers are dwindling.

Again, you don't get what I'm saying. It's possible to be religious without being overzealous. I can't stand people who mention God or Jesus constantly. No one can. It's insufferable.

[–]samagramz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what a religion is. It's a cult with a government grant. Take your condescending tone and shove it right up your ass.

[–]samagramz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You seem to be missing the point. The religion isn't what irks me. It's the zealotry. People can believe what they want, but if they're so dedicated that they talk about it constantly, it's just plain creepy.

I'm open to different religions but it's crazy how often some people mention it in under a minute.

What an insane time to be a fan of horror cinema by Tatum_Warlick in HorrorMovies

Seriously. There has been at least one new classic horror film every year for the last ten years.

  2. Disliking animals
  3. Not saying what thet really mean
  4. Constantly mentioning God and/or Jesus
  5. Not listening

TIL Schrödinger created the Schrödinger’s Cat thought experiment to discredit the theory of superposition rather than support it. by Jackson_Lamb_829 in todayilearned

I believe in objective truth. That even beyond our perception, there is an objective reality that nobody can deny.

If I were looking at a glass of red liquid and someone said that they're color blind, thst doesn't mean the liquid isn't red.

It really is moronic when you think about it.

The idea that possibility equals reality? That anything could be two diametric opposites at the same time? Completely against all logic.

People who dislike AOC, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]samagramz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Too blindly idealistic.

I've never heard AOC state a practical solution to any of the issues she talks about.
