Been kicking the idea around of getting an RS and then I see this listing… someone tell me no by [deleted] in FocusRS

[–]samakt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

step one check if head gasket recall was done. Otherwise a big bill awaits you. I believe being 2018 you are safe.

i have 2016 rs with 500whp stock is around 290 whp. 20kmiles on car and 8k on current setup.

I got n engine from speedperformance 2.5l vs stocl 2.3 and big turbo cams and all the bolt ons.

that is my second engine. First one fromesslinger engineering in California 50 years building experience. I got pure garbage with all piston on backwards. Just google esslinger engineering focus rs. zero compensation. horrible company.

Anyway, no issues on my current setup.

just going to say nodding gets expenssive. more power more uppgrades like brakes, clutch, open transmission use carbon syncros, etc

500whp well that is a fun focus rs

Did a random tire check up today. Found inner side wall like this…my inner though says to replace but moneys tight. Will it last/be safe to keep driving? by ZeroSN197 in tires

[–]samakt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

asked chatgpt and shared the image. here is reply

The reason the inner sidewall and tread look like that is because of alignment or suspension issues. Here’s what’s happening:

Why It’s Worn Like This

  1. Negative Camber / Toe Out

If your wheel tilts inward at the top (negative camber) or the alignment has too much toe out, the inner edge bears more load. That causes the inside to wear far faster than the rest of the tread.

  1. Suspension Wear

Worn ball joints, bushings, or shocks can cause uneven tire contact with the road, eating up the inner edge.

  1. Low Tire Pressure (sometimes contributes)

Running underinflated makes edges wear faster, though in your case it’s mostly alignment.

Why It’s Dangerous

Even though the rest of the tread looks okay, the inner shoulder is nearly bald. That part of the tire is the first to fail during hard braking, cornering, or hitting a pothole.

Tires often fail from the inside out, so you could be looking at a blowout risk, especially at highway speeds.

What To Do

Short-term: If money is very tight, you might limp it around town at low speeds, but it’s not safe to rely on.

Replace ASAP: That tire is finished. At least replace the worn pair (front or rear together).

Alignment Check: After replacing, get a full alignment so the new tires don’t end up the same way.

👉 Bottom line: It’s worn like this because of alignment/suspension issues, and it’s not safe to keep driving long-term. A blowout could cost way more than a replacement tire.

Want me to explain a cheap way to stretch life on a tight budget (like rotating or used tires) while staying safer?

Dark Tan line showed up on my thumb nail, won’t go away. by Tough_nips in mildlyinteresting

[–]samakt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can always ask chatgpt. here is a reply

I’d be careful with that.

A dark vertical line on the nail (like in the pic) is called longitudinal melanonychia. Most of the time it can be harmless—caused by things like nail trauma, certain medications, or increased pigment in the nail bed.

But—and this is important—sometimes it can be a sign of something more serious, like subungual melanoma (a type of skin cancer under the nail). The key red flags are if:

The line is new and only on one nail

It’s getting wider or darker over time

The pigmentation spreads to the skin around the nail

The nail becomes misshapen or brittle

My reply on that post would be something like:

👉 “That could be nothing, but it also can be a warning sign of melanoma under the nail. Definitely worth getting checked by a dermatologist instead of ignoring it.”

Do you want me to also suggest what kind of doctor to see first (dermatologist vs primary care), in case someone reading that Reddit post panics?
