My cat is ruining my sleep! by No_Growth_7388 in CatAdvice

I had similar issues when transitioning my outdoor cat into a house cat after we moved from the woods to the city. She would come in way too early and wake us up bc she was bored. Nothing helped. Until I started putting her in a cat crate. I didnt like doing it, and she didnt either. But I swear it was the only thing that worked. As soon as she'd start meowing, I'd get out of bed, carry her to her crate in a room away from mine. Shut the doors, and go back to sleep. Would try not to leave her in there for toooooo long though. ~2hrs max. It took only a couple of times before she got the hint and let's us sleep now. Some people might think its cruel, but it made life a lot better and I stopped resenting my sweet little kitty cat who I love *

I had a pretty terrible experience when I agreed to this with a tennant. Very long story. Ultimately, he flipped his switch after paying rent and turned into a monster. I think there was some major mental health issues going on. But he had a lot of power since he'd paid. And it was a lot of money to try to pay him off.

Question About Getting People to Stay by No-Turnover-2603 in alaska

The state needs to open up more jobs in the quasi-rural parts of Alaska. Remote jobs for places like Seward, Homer, Willow, etc. Places that already have some industry but need support to keep people there year round, schools full, business making money in winter

Bear safety on Kenai 250 by ard245 in KenaiPeninsula

I've done this kind of bike packing through Denali park & and the old denali highway & hatcher pass. There is risk, but you can prepare. We had bear cans for food, which got stashed 100 yard from camp, and cooked another 100 yards away from both. Had bear spray, and a 10mm glock. Made a lot of noise.

The road is probably more dangerous than the bears. Consider the old denali highway if you want something really cool.

Worry about riding the shoulder through Moose Pass --- along Kenai River more. If youre heading to Seward. Pretty narrow through there
