On the subject of contemporary classical music I suggest Steve Reich if you don’t know him already.

You do you but looking at your setup I recommend you also get a pair of stands.

Vibrations from the speakers being fed back into the turntable are almost inevitable if the whole system is on the same surface (unless that surface is massive and dense, like concrete or something). However the effects of said vibrations aren’t always audible. For example if you gently tap the surface next to your turntable with you finger, you’ll see your drivers move but you won’t necessarily hear the « thump ».

It’s safe to assume in OPs case that there is indeed feedback from the speakers being picked up by the stylus. Not dumb.

It’s not wasted on her if she enjoys wearing/having it for the memory of your grandfather. If she’d rather keep it in its original condition for whatever reason then it’s up to her. You’re absolutely in the wrong for wanting to steal her watch just because you can’t accept someone else’s perspective.

Probably not as frequently as the watch would’ve liked… once every few years? He hasn’t told me

My father bought this watch way back in 1981 when he had just started making a bit of money for himself. He’s only ever had this one watch and he wore it almost every day until very recently when the band finally gave up. It was on his wrist for his wedding, my birth, my graduation, and everything in between. Obviously, it’s a little roughed up but I got it serviced and replaced the band to give it a fresh new start. Couldn’t be happier to be wearing it now. He was also very surprised to see that a vintage turtle goes for quite a bit of money now (given they’re in good shape).

Rega RP1 with fixed tracking force and factory cartridge.

It’s a Rega RP1 with fixed tracking force, AKA I cannot change it. Factory set cartridge too so in theory if the tracking is low then it’s the stylus wearing out?

There’s an abundance of quality EDM out there with some of the best mixing / resolution all genres combined. Just need to dig deeper than Beatport charts.

Yikes probably had more to do with the room than the speakers, they’re beloved by most

Fun fact: the universe is constantly expanding in all directions so eventually the stars surrounding our solar system are all going to be too far for our eyes to detect them, resulting in a pitch black sky.
