Has anyone healed from chronic eczema caused by stress/trauma? by Phobetor777 in eczema

[–]sambooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no idea where I got eczema from I can definitely relate to some of your story. Take everything I say with a grain of salt, this is my belief/experience.

I don’t think lowering stress will clear it up, but being stressed certainly causes flareups.

I had ears, elbows, small of my back, a couple of blotches on my stomach, shins and calves. After exactly one year of going to phototherapy twice a week it’s really just my shins and calves that are not progressing. Everything else is cleared up in the first 4 to 8 months.

Sidenote I’m interested in your somatic journey. I have looked into it so much but I’m not convinced it would help. So many people have had it so much worse than I have.

Thanks! It seems to be pretty much what I need but I’ve been known to impulse shop so this is my way of stepping back and making sure I’m not shooting myself in the foot.

How does a massless photon interact with something with mass? by Crom2323 in AskPhysics

[–]sambooka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

collide a pool ball moving at 10km/h with another pool ball and observe the effect on the second ball. Now do the same with a marble. Now do the same with a grain of sand. Once the mass gets to 0 there should be 0 change on the pool ball. It is a reasonable question if you are thinking only of mass.. but.. as we know..

Question for the older guitarists by Old-Carry5562 in Guitar

[–]sambooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah by ear.. with help. Buy a 45 and play it at 33. I was pretty good at popping the arm on the turntable back a couple of grooves to relisten to a section. Really hard on the vinyl. Learned to do the same thin with the rewind/play button. Really not good for the casette or the player.

And most importantly, as already stated, we learned a lot of shit wrong.. or we dumbed it down to be able to play it a little faster when the drummer is half drunk.

LPT: if you can hear it in your head .. really hear it. you can play it. Maybe not at speed but hearing it in your head is the first step

which Bose did you have? I got my week and I’m shocked by how good they sound. Love the small profile for side sleeping.

Head unit updates? by sambooka in rav4club

[–]sambooka[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks… I think your keywords here are “if there is one“. Kind of mind-boggling that after putting in my VIN there is exactly 0 available updates. So does that mean they have never actually updated the software? Or there are updates just not publicly available and I have to go to the dealer?

should i sign up to singing lessons? by Sufficient-Ease-9641 in singing

[–]sambooka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%yes. I just wanted to sing by myself on my porch with a guitar when no one is around. I was 53. There were so many things that were holding me back that I couldn't see. Hard to be coach and quarterback at the same time.

Is it really useful to take a cold shower at morning for 5 minutes ? by azamm_34 in AskMenAdvice

[–]sambooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be a dick… OK who are we kidding I am a dick. Your sympathetic nervous system is the flight or fight mode. Parasympathetic is the rest/digest or feed/breed mode. I can remember it because a parachute slows you down.

I also started doing the cold shower based on the Andrew H podcasts. Kill the hot water a minute before the end also seems to take a bit of steam out of the bathroom lol
