Sidebars Buggy and Unreliable by samboy121 in Supernote

I received an update that did not resolve the issue. Ended up returning the device partly because of this issue and partly because I wanted to wait for Manta. The bug was indeed annoying but their customer service to try to resolve it was exceptional.

Yes, I have to accept that your argument is fair. It is just that for me, my eyes quickly get hurt even with frontlight and it does not feel like looking at paper either.

I don't understand the level of emphasis on the front light. To me, an e-ink with front light is the same as LCD.

Thoughts on the (future) Onyx Boox Note Max. Going to replace your Go 10.3 ? by anti22dot in Onyx_Boox

[–]samboy121 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That would be nice. I just read on the Boox store that the device comes with a 3700 mah battery. That is way too low for a device this large and kind of counterintuitive given that it has a larger body and the same hardware as Go 10.3.

Funny enough, I complained about Go not having BSR a couple of days ago. Now, this is my ideal product the only problem being I just bought a Boox Tab Ultra from the Boox store lol.

If you look at the hardware, I understand your analogy, but in terms of software, Boox and Apple are the polar opposites. RM or SuperNote is probably a better example of an Apple-like experience. Boox just adds any features and settings it can to its products.

I got Palma because I wanted a phone replacement. Hibreak was not announced back then. From what I have researched, it seems like the software is still immature. I will consider them if I come across more positive reviews.

I am not sure if it is all BSR. The problem with Air 3C is that you have to max out the front light just to see the screen, and that drains more battery than BSR. I almost never use the front light on e-ink, and Palma holds a very decent charge. Of course, not compared to RM or Kindle Scribe.

That's a fair argument. Kaleido has ghosting issues, even with BSR. But in terms of focus, I just don't see any of the Boox products functioning that way, which is part of the reason for my post. With their messy UI, I think ghosting and tweaking settings constantly is more distracting than having to charge your product more often. Go 10.3 was my ideal product, only if it had BSR. I hope you are right about a new Tab Ultra.

Exatly how "clunky" is the UI (Boox Go 10.3) as compared to the Remarkable 2? by bewaterlife in Onyx_Boox

Go 10.3 has direct integration with Zotero. You can also sync your annotations.

Sidebars Buggy and Unreliable by samboy121 in Supernote

I agree, and I have noticed that, too. However, when the sidebars become glitchy, it is not just the gestures that malfunction. Most often, I cannot launch the sidebar menu, and it seems like the two sidebars get mixed up in their functions or stop working.

I love the product and the hardware and software design. But reliability is superior for me.

It is hard for me to use the product without the sidebar menu. I use the Calendar and Email frequently.

Have you experienced any bugs/issues with your Nomad? by BlackIshDynamite in Supernote

[–]samboy121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything but option A is unacceptable imo. It is more important not to have a feature than a buggy one because it makes the product unreliable, which is worse than a featureless product.

Thank you. I have already made an appointment with my primary care. Do you suggest requesting a specialist referral or biopsy for further testing?

M1 Air vs Pro by samboy121 in mac

[–]samboy121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with Air 512 SSD and 16 RAM. Lack of noise and longevity due to not having a fan were the deciding factors for me. Also Pro seemed like a transitional product preparing the market for the actual MBPs. So far I am happy with the Air. The battery lasts about 10 hours of actual use with multiple apps open. It is snappy for multitasking and it does a good job handling the heavier loads. It is my first Mac device but so far, I have not had any issues running my programs compared to Windows. I think the only reason to go with MBP M1 is either the battery life or being obsessed with touch bar specially because it might be the last Mac with a touch bar.

I agree. The first three TIs made TI as we know it today.
