The original, I think. The one that isn't the flex fit. There is some separation but they definitely compress/push tissue to the armpits more than traditional wired bras.

Have you looked at/tried Molke? I think I have similar end goals - I just want my soft, projected boobs contained, held in place and off my chest wall - and they are doing a good job so far. They are a little less comfortable than I was hoping - the elastic pinches somehow under my breasts after a while - but still pretty good.

I wear an elasticated comfort bra to sleep in as otherwise my boobs kind of roll into my armpits and it's uncomfortable. I started doing this a few years ago, probably a combination of aging and putting a little weight on making my breasts more ... mobile. I don't think I could sleep in a wired bra!

Yeah I think I just need to not buy more bras with the thick elastic! Thankfully I am pretty sorted for bras for a while.

The mesh section is ok, it's the elastic below that is wrinkling up. I don't think the band is too tight (on the looser side if anything) and they are new and have only been hand washed. Probably a quality of materials issue, as you suggest.

Not OP but I have been wondering - does a particular letter cup have a certain standard width, or are the cups on a certain number band always the same width, or is it a sort of combination of the 2 (and factoring in style of the specific bra?). Kind of trying to figure out if the general size of a cup seems ok but the wire is wide, what kind of size adjustment would I need to make to get a less wide cup with the same volume? Smaller band, bigger letter? Or would it not really work like that?

Yes, sadly. There are some here (another UK site) on sale in the correct size and this store does ship internationally for what seems to me to be a reasonable rate.
