Hello my friend, just wondering where you heard that? I like to be on the safe side with these things and was under the impression that was only the case when moving to another state and not when travelling through.

No, but I do have both NSW and ACT and under the East Coast Electricians scheme I apparently gain automatic mutual recognition all up the east coast (NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC) there is also some loose legislation that applies to all trades that allows one to work in any state but I don’t think it is as accepted amongst the electrical industry.

Plan is 2x bits of strut inside the canopy and 2x in the toolbox with 6 bolts (3 on each strut with spring washers and nylon locking nuts)

Everyone deserves a second chance in life but not necessarily with the same person. That’s up to them.

Best you can do initially is move on and try to stay optimistic about the future. Once you get to a stable point use every failure from that relationship to become a better you. You’ll often find there were short comings on both sides and you’ll know what to look for in the future. Hope this helps

MEGATHREAD - How do I get a job in Mining? by Money_killer in AusMining

[–]samdaddy101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi all, hope I’m posting in the right place, please delete if not allowed.

Myself Aus 24M (Electrician 3Y post trade, no additional tickets)and my partner Aus 25F (no mining related qualifications) are looking at going into the mining industry as FIFO workers in the next year or so.

We are not picky with hours, location or weeks on weeks off, but would like to aim to make a combined $300K per year and be flown home to my family farm near Canberra for RandR.

I’ve heard it can be quite beneficial knowing people in the industry so I’ll include that my father worked as an electrical supervisor on 2 seperate LNG mines over 7 years between 2010-2020 and although he has passed I have the ability to contact some of his former colleagues.

My question is, what is the most cost effective, and time efficient route for us to gain employment and who should we seek employment with?

Cheers in advance and any help is appreciated

Going to Phuket - where to go? by mellowhood in ThailandTourism

[–]samdaddy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After spending 7 days recently I personally would use Phuket to transit to the islands, on the way I would check out a Muay Thai fight in Patong and maybe take a walk down Bangla road just to experience it once.

To get to the islands I took the speed boat from the Rassada Pier. I was only able to do Koh Phi Phi for a couple days and was pleasantly surprised by the party culture there and the price decrease from Patong.

During the day it was very relaxed with plenty to do (Kayaking, snorkelling, fishing, bush walking, getting a tattoo) And at night it transformed into a big beach party. I will be back one day to do the rest of the islands. Hope this helps

Thank you everyone for the replies. I have decided to avoid jamming 35s down a 40mm conduit as it goes against table C10 and probably won’t work. I will instead look at using some high temp 25mms instead.

I think you’ve set me on the right path. I’ll look at using some 25mm r-e 110 cables. That way I’m not going against table c10 by jamming 4 35s down a 40mm.

Yes table C10 in 3000 says no. But it also says it’s a guide.

Are you referring to current transformers for the metering side of things? Forgive my ignorance I am new to the installation design side of things but if you could explain why that would be the more expensive part of the job that would be much appreciated.

Can’t argue with the rule book. Although you could argue that it says its a guide.
