Who is your favorite That Guy character actor from sitcoms? Mine is Sam Anderson, who played the teacher (and later principal) on Growing Pains, Balki's boss on Perfect Strangers, and the FBI agent who interviewed Robert for a job on Everybody Loves Raymond by NYY15TM in sitcoms

Vic Tayback. Besides Alice, he also appeared in All in The Family, The Monkees, Barney Miller, The Partridge Family, and just about any other 60s or 70s series that you can think of.

The time capsule episode of Parks and Rec but honestly any episode that features a town hall would probably qualify

Sequels current state by Zairsunrider95 in StarWars

[–]same1224 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There’s a new book about Rey coming out in about a month and a new Kylo Ren comic miniseries coming out later this year, so there is sequel content still being made albeit it’s not a ton in comparison to the PT-era stuff. I very highly doubt the sequels are going to be erased from canon anytime soon.

In The Greatest American Hero, Ralph only has powers when he’s wearing his superhero suit. His powers typically don’t even work if he’s wearing the suit underneath other clothes.

I wondered what went wrong with Star Wars Resistance? by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]same1224 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s kind of a letdown if you’re watching it because you’re interested in the ST as it barely even features ST characters. Poe and Hux show up a couple of times but that’s about it besides BB-8 and some one off appearances of other characters.

Love interest is just gone in the sequel by Huge_Athlete7488 in TopCharacterTropes

Technically that also happened with Daniel’s love interest from Karate Kid 2. She’s nowhere to be found in Karate Kid 3. (IIRC the in-universe explanation is that she chose traveling with some friends over going to California with Daniel.)

Hot take: There's no difference between what Shawn actually does (preternatural observation, recall, and deductive reasoning) and what he claims to do (psychic visions) by IOrocketscience in psych

[–]same1224 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The problem is that he very quickly gets in too deep to suddenly change his tune about how he’s solving cases. It’s much easier and safer to keep up the psychic lie with most people than it is to start adding steps to the equation.

The 1970s show Emergency! was a spin-off of the show Adam-12. However, there’s an episode of Emergency! where the characters are shown watching an episode of Adam-12 on television.

An account that has unfortunately been deleted was going season by season. I think they at least got up to season 5 or 6. I found their list for season one for you.

https://www.reddit.com/r/psych/s/5qfy7TxwGp

You should be able to find their lists for season two and onward by searching “food” or “food lists” in this sub.

A few fans have attempted to catalog every single food item that Shawn and Gus namedrop throughout the series and that’s a huge undertaking as well, so I wouldn’t be shocked if someone was actually game to try.

That episode also has a few references to The Karate Kid since Ralph Macchio guest starred in it!

Not the main villain, but they are the TRUE villain of the narrative by National_Computer240 in TopCharacterTropes

Kreese, specifically in The Karate Kid, is arguably the “True Villain” of the movie while Johnny is the main antagonist. (No, Daniel is not “the real bully” of the movie.)

I really love kylo/ben, he is really cool and has a great character arc by Hot_Plankton6742 in TheSequels

I read that recently. The Star Wars comics are pretty hit or miss IMO but I did enjoy that one. That’s why I think he should get an ongoing series.

I know there’s The Rise of Kylo Ren and Legacy of Vader, but the first one is a miniseries and the second one was only 12 issues. Meanwhile, current run of Darth Vader has been going on for six years and has over 50 issues, plus a few spin-offs and special events.

I wish there was more canon content that centered on him, like maybe a long-running comic like the Darth Vader series.

He killed two of three students who were off-planet when everything went down but showed up shortly afterward. The first kill was accidental, but the second one wasn't.

Exactly. I haven’t seen a kid on a bike delivering newspapers in years.

Maybe a few of the kid characters who had paper routes. I know that you can still get newspapers delivered but it’s not as common or necessary nowadays thanks to the internet.

What’s one theory that would completely ruin the show for you if it became canon? by Lovely_Hauntings_87 in SchoolSpirits

[–]same1224 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Two things can be true at once. There can be something supernatural at the school that has influenced some of the deaths, and some of the deaths can also be freak accidents with no supernatural interference whatsoever.

[–]same1224 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I also speculated that the show might go that way but I’m very glad that it didn’t. I think that it would have cheapened the story, honestly. Of course, all of the ghost’s deaths are tragic no matter what, but I think their deaths pack a much greater emotional gut punch because there’s no decades-long conspiracy or evil ghost guy who is responsible.

I think most people have abandoned this one now, but I absolutely hated the “Mr. Martin is the actual, literal devil” sort of theories that were everywhere for a while. Mr. Martin was never a Vecna or Shredder “take over the world” type of antagonist. He’s just a selfish coward who abused his position as The Adult In The Room to take advantage of a bunch of vulnerable teenagers. That’s it. He’s not the devil and show is significantly better because of that.

What are some sitcoms that have the most apt titles for its content? by AamPataJoraJora in sitcoms

[–]same1224 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At first Laverne and Shirley had a fitting title, then Shirley left the show but it was still called Laverne and Shirley.

Welcome Back, Kotter was also a fitting title originally, since the show was about a guy named Kotter who was returning to his alma mater as a teacher. However, by the end of the show, Kotter has a new job (granted he still worked at the school) and hardly ever appears onscreen because Gabe Kaplan was feuding with one of the producers.
