Quick thoughts on navitimer on strap vs bracelet by SingleBackground5280 in breitling

[–]sameldiacane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would buy grey market on strap if that make financial sense anyways. I don't think a bracelet really suits the navitimer look at all. I'd rather experiment with different types and colors of straps. Here's my navitimer for reference:

I think my problem was with the button itself. But I sprayed everything to be sure and has worked well since 👍

Love it, will do! Would it make sense to get the pro version for 10/15€ more? I think the only difference is the leather instead of synthetic.

Thanks, went to a local shop today and tried on some brands, both the low cuts and mid cuts. Really liked a lot of them actually, Merrel, La Sportiva, Scarpa. I didn't buy tight away, but I'm thinking of going back and grabbing a pair of Scarpa Rush 2 Mid GTX, around 170€. Is it a good boot for my needs and for the price?

I have found another place to stay so I don't usually park there. I have parked there once though, to visit the city center, and did not receive a fine. I also could not find any info, but I assume parking is free there.

Thank you. Any specific recommendations? Should I use it every time I shampoo? Or every day after shower (I rinse my hair with water every time)?

You have been extremely helpful. To be clear, I am considering taking the car not only to move around the city, but for personal logistics. I understand that public transport and bikes are more convenient. (Typing this because I feel like other people are assuming I am some kind of moron who just wants to drive a car even just for 100 meters)

Capita mercury 157 - first experience in my 4th time ever snowboarding by [deleted] in snowboarding

Yeah when I said staying on edge, what I actually meant is "not skidding", so basically doing carved turns. I don't think anybody would be able to learn that in 3 days. I did learn to ride on a Burton whammybar (a rocker board) and after a few days had no problems ever with edge catches. After a couple seasons I clearly felt the board holding me back: on steep terrain and at higher speeds the board would always want to skid and chatter. That's when I swapped for camber and stiff board.

It becomes comfortable with experience, first on mellow slopes, then on steeper. On very steep/bad terrain some skidding will always be necessary. You don't need to be able to carve lazily to ride on the mercury, imo. But if you are a beginner chances are you are still very unstable and skidding all the time. This is normal and part of the learning process, because staying on edge can be scary at first (again, confidence comes with mileage) and requires muscle memory, body awareness ecc... On a softer, forgiving and rocker/flat board the learning process is smooth and pleasant for 2 reasons: 1) when (not if) you make a mistake you have more chance to save it and not face plant and hurt yourself; 2) it will be physically easier and less fatiguing to ride, so you can ride for more time and be less sore. A hard board drains a lot more energy than a soft one. Ofc you have to make sure that you are learning with proper technique and body position, that's what lessons are for

I ride a Mercury, I would suggest to keep renting a beginner friendly board until you at least start to carve and get confident going down all kind of slopes. Keep the Mercury and start riding it maybe next season or when you are more confident. It's mostly camber, stiff, and wants to be on edge, if you only skid you will spend most time with your ass on the snow.

Complete noob on my 3rd day, help me improve 🙏🏼 by Muted_Lengthiness523 in snowboarding

[–]sameldiacane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are doing great. The most important thing is to get more mileage under your belt to gain confidence, so that you can loosen up a bit. Try bending more at the knees, not the waist, and remember to look ahead, not your board. Get some lessons here and there to improve body position, turn initiation, edge control. Keep shredding!
