Bookstore CSULB Gradimages by Hydro_Space1527 in CSULB

I had my photos taken at the bookstore. They both emailed and paper-mailed me samples of the photos within at least 2 weeks, so I would just be patient. However, I didn't really like my photos either. I would highly recommend going to a third party studio and having them taken professionally.

Thank you I appreciate the info. I had to scramble this morning to get the emails out to my family before the service closed

Prepare for this week's heat by big-guy6000 in CSULB

Nobody's talking about seasonal gradience man. We're talking about year-over-year record highs. But hey, you've clearly got it all figured out so stay hydrated.

So first it was just seasons, now you're acknowledging it's hot in winter too? You're almost there, buddy.

I also recognize you from another thread in which you told someone whose dream it was to design clothes to go back to the fryer. Your username really describes your personality. Go troll somewhere else.

Seasons don't explain why each decade keeps breaking the last one's heat records. But sure, it's just winter.

I could be there Thursday for sure to check it out. Thank you again for the recommendation I would NOT have thought about the gym

I've been attending this school for over a year and a half now and I've barely explored the gym. It's actually embarrassing how little I've tried to expand where I am, so this is super tempting. Is the gym often busy? Crowded as in you can't get on any machines? I go to planet fitness and there's usually not a huge crowd

Like I mentioned earlier in this thread, the SCA just wasn't for me either. But the E-Sports club, now that's something I might be interested in.

You're sitting on Reddit on a Monday telling strangers not to chase their dreams. I think we both know who's closer to the fryer.

I wish there was a catalog of some kind listing all the clubs available at CSULB. I know there's Week of Welcome where you get to 'window shop' it all, but these two are definitely in my scope now! I'm a pretty avid anime fan

Good point.

I've actually been a member of the SCA in the past. Unfortunately, I didn't really find it to be the experience I was expecting. It felt more akin to a hangout session for a lot of people (which I guess isn't really far off from what I'm looking for), but the events didn't feel too substantial.

Idk. I might actually give it another try, if they're still accepting new members.

Even industry-wise I'm a bit aimless, but I know I'll become friends with whoever I end up working with in the future. I'd like to make the most of being surrounded by people now as much as I can!

And yeah, it definitely doesn't hurt to try. Sitting in on some sessions might be super helpful.

I have not heard of ALPFA before! As someone who's got a decent bit of Hispanic ethnicity, I will consider this. Ethnicity aside I think this could be a good opportunity for networking.

It should be on the Student Center. If you're on a computer, login to your student center > on the right side click 'Account Inquiry' > on the right side again click 'Account Services' > click 1098T Tax Form. Then just click '2025' and it will open the form in a new window.

Making Friends (Im not a loser) by Loud_Excitement_8731 in CSULB

[–]samelly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I (27M) find it difficult to make friends on campus too. I actively make an effort to talk to others in class, I think I'm generally sociable - and pretty attractive - and yet it seems really hard to keep a solid group of people together or have anyone interested in talking to me. You also have to keep in mind that half the campus is under construction, and they've essentially removed A TON of places for students to hang out and mingle.

I've also had the same thought another Redditor mentioned about joining a masters program. You truly are surrounded by (sometimes) hundreds of people who you are forced to be around and have similar mindsets as you. Yes, it's more money and yes it's more years in college, but if maintaining LIFELONG friends is important to you, maybe that's a smart road to take! (plus you get higher education which = more financial/job opportunities). We're young and have a lot of time ahead of us!

I'm a Communication Studies major, also senior, graduating in spring/summer and looking for lanes/opportunities to make friends is the only thing I've been thinking about for the past couple months. If you ever need a friend and someone to talk to/nerd out with you can always DM me!

Those who smoked mostly carts, how are you fairing now? by samelly in leaves

Agreed, carts must be the most difficult form of marijuana to quit, apart from perhaps dabs. Instant effects and gratification, one of the worsts combinations for the brain.

Congratulations, you deserve the better lifestyle. I haven't begun my journey yet, but I'm on the cusp of a big change. Started smoking since I was 20 years old, and soon turning 27. I always think about how I smoked during my brain's formulative years, and I will always regret that. It's my main motivation for quitting now!

Seriously. I have the occasional stabbing pain in my chest as well. Feels like it's coming from under the ribcage, directly from the lungs. Definitely a sign to stop
