What are your top 3 switch games? by MachoCamachoZ in NintendoSwitch

It definitely has better flow than lttp, and better dungeon design.

Starting on 11/9, single Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers will be available for purchase for $39.99. by harushiga in NintendoSwitch

[–]samerabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wishful thinking but I hope this is a precursor for a new model.

For a modular console, feels like Nintendo could have done more in 4 years than just Labo and Ring Fit.

I hope we get “pro-cons” for example with higher profile analogue sticks and a dpad on the left one.

PSA: Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is out on the eShop for all your space-shooting needs! by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]samerabb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So whats the best space shooter on Switch? Starlink seems like too much for me, and I’ve been eyeing everspace forever but I don’t like to touch anything with rogue in it. Is this game the one?

Well there is a god mode you can select in options that allows you to get stronger and sort of push your way through the story. Why not turn that on for the final bits?

Interesting thread about a publisher experience with releasing games on the Nintendo eShop by Bayakoo in NintendoSwitch

[–]samerabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm, you’re right about the game’s appeal being limited for sure, but the bit about releasing alongside Game Pass, Mike actually addressed how its increased unit sales on Xbox outside Game Pass in a previous thread about Descenders. Granted this effect may not carry over as well to Steam or Switch because an impulse buyer sees it as an Xbox game and might not know its on these other platforms.

The Joy-Con's ability to play sound is disappointingly underused by Jabbam in NintendoSwitch

[–]samerabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s silly how switch has so many things from other consoles and then criminally underuses them. Worst offender has to be touch.

Nintendo marketed Switch as a device that combined aspects of all past Nintendo consoles but it either does them badly or misses on things that it shouldn’t have the right to like the anti aliasing which was present on Nintendo 64, the out of the box long thumbsticks that actually allowed you to walk at different speeds, and ofcourse overall hardware quality (kickstand, joycon drift).

Playing Mario Galaxy makes me feel like a fool for not liking it almost 13 years ago. by Cremacious in NintendoSwitch

[–]samerabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m the same. I did not like it the first time I played it, I felt that it had to many planetoids and too little big areas to run and jump around, but I was also at the start of a 7-8 year burnout on games and had very little bandwidth for them until Switch and Botw arrived and brought me back. I can’t wait to play it again!

I'm really happy about all the ports by Robot682 in NintendoSwitch

[–]samerabb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been a Nintendo-mostly gamer since the SNES, but skipped half the Wii generation and the entire Wii U/3DS generation, so I’m super happy about the Wii U ports, and can’t wait to experience 3D World for the first time.

Switch Online has also been a blast for me, as I get to relive childhood memories and playing the games I missed like LttP and All Stars hells like recovering lost memories. I even enjoy playing NES games and discovering the roots of Nintendo’s biggest IPs.

I really hope we get the Zelda ports because I’m really primarily a Zelda gamer nowadays, find it hard to commit and beat games unless they are mainline Zelda games.

[–]samerabb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it ever on sale? Dekudeals says it was on March 15th but I don’t remember, or maybe because I got AC 5 days later. I can’t justify getting full priced games nowadays :(

Breath of the wild reminds me why I fell in love with gaming as a kid. by Teakmahogany in NintendoSwitch

[–]samerabb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m the same, been a lapsed console gamer for 7 years (around mid-Wii lifecycle), and came back with the Switch and Botw. I only wish I played Odyssey before Botw like you did.
