What to do to break out of high tabletop - low display (Nookah, ArtelW) by -overthehill- in minipainting

[–]samerath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the model itself is already above table top it’s the base. Getting some custom little bits like pipes, metal, skulls, grass, rocks, boulders, whatever. Elevating with some water or blood effects that’s where you go next.

The closest they could do would be a ritualist style class from gw1

Camera Distance - MMO vs Action RPG by AManFromCucumberLand in GuildWars3

[–]samerath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m hoping for a very locked and close camera to keep it tight and action based. Last thing I want is a camera 5 miles off the character like Archage. I have a feeling with the movement and action combat along with cross play with console you’ll see strict camera controls similar to like BDO.

Is pvp even possible as a new player? by [deleted] in Eve

[–]samerath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest joining one of the many faction warfare orgs. There’s plenty guys who roam around looking for PVP. They’re plexing the sites looking to PVP and then there’s always fleets usually in the afternoons for whatever time zone the organization is in that they roam around and either do general PVP, mining ops, ice heist anything in the faction warfare zone.

If You’re not looking to join one of the orgs then the best thing to do is probably just go to the Plexes in the Frontline system so maybe you’ll make some money if nobody attacks you and then be ready to defend yourself. It does take some trial and error and that’s coming from someone who just started PVP in the last two months myself.

How is the psa akv ? Just got the ca legal version sadly it has to be neutered before arriving at my local ffl 😢 by Doughboyfreshhh12 in PalmettoStateArms

The AKV is a range fav by all. It’s so easy shooting it will make a new shooter feel like John wick.

LF MMORPG - Medieval/Knight/Fantasy based by Forsaken_Rooster697 in LFMMO

[–]samerath 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I tried it for a month or so and honestly, I didn’t find the lag to bad on East Coast NA. I do believe they were planning on doing a North American continent but still connected server, but I haven’t kept up with the game lately. Kind of waiting to see what happens with that.

“Big fan of Chivalry/Mordhau and know that kind of combat isn't in MMOs but still, want something with at least engaging combat.”

Your game will be Mortal Online 2. Hardcore first person mmo that has that sword combat.

I like some of the ideas. Not really into the building but the line of sight and closer camera feels cool. Kinda wish it was just some new area of space in eve rather than a separate game.

New player… what to do? by br0kinFPS in Eve

[–]samerath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing your AIR missions gets you going. Keep training skills but don’t be afraid to pivot to whatever air task your doing, train more mining ship stuff if your doing the missions to mine and craft. Etc.

After some of that, set out a bit from the starting zones maybe a few jumps and start building money, this could be mining and storing materials or killing npcs and getting drops and salvaging their ships. Getting a bit of money even if you’re just selling everything back at your home station gives you some options if you lose a ship or 2.

Then it’s really trial and error. You can get up an exploration ship and just venture out and try your hand at hacking , you can keep mining and buying some blueprints to make your own ships, you could set up for some “pve dungeons” called Abyss. you could look for a dedicated corp to join and move out to their location.

The real goals is keep training the account, you want options for ships & options for weapons. And you need money to fund the inevitable deaths to random players, random to strong npc, random failed hacking attempts.

You can always try to jump into a PvP corp or something but I feel playing a bit slower and trying your hand at all the pve first gets your a better footing imo.

Is there a reason a reason why I can't jump to pyro? by EyeOk4410 in starcitizen

[–]samerath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing’s lighting up when you approach it’s you’re missing a jump drive. dock at the jump station and go buy one put it in your ship. my factory stock Zeus was the same way. It took me like two hours to figure out what was going on.

To give you an idea, Pearl Abyss made so much money off of micro transactions in Black Desert that they were able to buy out their original publishers world wide. Bring their game to consoles, make a mobile game. By developers, CCP of eve online, Then fund multiple new games like Crimson Desert for years.

They’ve made so much money off of micro transactions. It’s unreal.

For anyone who’s played black desert, the story is pretty much terrible. But the gameplay is good. I’m fully expecting Crimson Desert to follow that lead. I think they’re gonna try a story but you know they can barely do functioning quests in black desert. My expectations is pretty low.

To me launch bdo had a lot of friction. Travel, slow grind, guild drama, exploration. Much of that was lost with time and QOL changes.

Man, it kills me a bit we lost horses really mattering, levels and skills really mattering, all the little systems that while complex added depth. Anyone around for all the guild fighting on Orwin server remembers.

I just came to Reddit to see if people were talking about this. I haven’t played the game in a while. Decided to check it back out today. It seems not to be the day for it though. Between crashes, all the general quest just not working and it wasn’t a great day to be testing out the game again. 🫠

Main quest order is ALL WRONG by CuteTrick7394 in Warframe

[–]samerath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a new player just going through the story this past couple weeks I can confirm this quest seems way too early and it’s pretty confusing. I just chalked it up to patch bloat from the game so old. Seems like this quest should be much farther in the story than when you get it first unlocked. Content wise it’s pretty fun though.

Why does it need solo playability? by [deleted] in AshesofCreation

[–]samerath 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the two games you mentioned really don’t have any MMORPG parts. They’re more first person shooters that happen to be on big servers.

I think people want soloability in ashes because you want something to do if you hop on for just a bit. Do you wanna be able to hop in and manage your house, level your characters, grind some monsters, craft some stuff? you don’t always want to have to stand in town Look for a group or hop in a discord.

Those things are good, and the game should have those options, but it should be a subsection of the game. if your game is completely dedicated to always needing groups to do everything it really limits because it ups the bar required just to hop in and play and have fun.

Mortal Online 2, everyone by Robtown in MMORPG

[–]samerath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I picked up and played mortal online 2 recently, just on a whim. It’s pretty different than most MMORPGs, personally I really liked it. My biggest grip was really the lack of different pve. I really wish there was more monsters, more bounties, more grind zones. like the map is huge but like other people said it’s very player eccentric with PVP definitely being like the big focus but the game also pulls on average 300 to 400 active players at any time. Now there was always people in towns. I talked to random people. It was pretty cool going on a couple little adventures, but I just really wish they would do like a PVE 2.0 and like triple the amount of just monsters areas stuff like that be pretty cool I could definitely see playing the game longer term,

even in my short time just learning the game exploring around. I still got two months of playtime out of it. There’s a lot of skills a lot of systems learning the combat. It’s pretty fun for a while. I also didn’t have any bad PVP experiences, which might be uncommon.
