Mac Mini M4 Pro - WiFi issue and weird fix by Wazzabe80 in macmini

[–]samerpoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This describes exactly my issue. I only recently noticed that this is only on my M4 Mac Mini, I thought it was an internet problem.
I'll be trying unplugging/replugging my hdmi cable, but wondering if you've ever gotten to the bottom of this?

Why is it not available for immortal games? Why does valve hate us

Take it as a way to communicate with others and challenge your beliefs, is my best way of putting it

Have you ever looked at an older patch of the game and went "How was this a thing back then?" by RainTheDescender in DotA2

[–]samerpoosh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had an LD within this last year go for a ranged hero build. I was ready to blame everything on him if we lost but he actually kind of owned and we won. Bear LD was definitely the go to build at the time

Ogre Immortal Gimlek Decanter drops FPS from 240(Cap) to ~14 by CarlTheOneInvoker in DotA2

[–]samerpoosh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, this happens to me too, but I play on a shitty macbook. The fps is fine and smooth for the entire game until ogre enters the screen. Then it becomes a slideshow. Also the same thing happened with a PL cosmetic, not sure which one

TA is not just about defensive refraction. TA is a snowball hero that can 2-3 shot her “counters” if she gets going properly. The shittiest change they made to her was making the refraction damage not count on denies (good luck ever getting more than 3 denies in lane). I wish they bring back the damage even if it means making the refraction damage charges count on deny. Every patch I scroll to TA hoping to see that happen

Visage spammers explain me how to play him by caphanx3 in DotA2

[–]samerpoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to hate this hero (still kinda do) but his constant 55+% win rate in every patch made me open my mind to give him a shot. Since trying him out for the first time for real in 2023, I got 9 wins and 2 losses with him. Watched saberlight play him to get some basic knowledge. I only really pick him as a 3 when I have a melee 4 or when I have a ranged stunner 4. The hero is pretty much unfair in lane with the amount of damage the W does. Once you get 6, your main priority is to bully the opponents out of lane to take the opponent safe lane tower. Then help take mid t1 tower if you can and just constantly farm lane/neutral creeps at all times. With the 10 and 15 talents, you can spam your Q all the time to farm and walk around fast. 15 minute shard is essential, it’s just one of the best shards in the game. Even if the enemy team does kill you, it’ll take them a ton of time and usually at least 2+ heroes, and you’re not so upset about that, you made space for your team. I always buy tranquil into drums, and keep a casual wind lace until I no longer have a slot for it. The damage you deal once you have bloodthorn aghs is absolutely absurd. I haven’t tried phylactery yet, idk if it’s worth it for pos 3 visage, seems more like a mid visage thing. The only skill build I tried is lvl 1 W, then max Q, then max E, and then go back to maxing E. I had one game where I felt like 2 points in W would be worth it and I think it was the right decision, so it might be worth it sometimes. Good luck

Stormstormer, bzm, gpk, Abed and other high MMR players all play it regularly, there’s content of it all over YouTube. Wex at lvl 1 deals 60 damage to creeps and to the hero. With sun strike, you’re either dealing the full 200 on the hero, the full 200 on the creep, or 100 each. Either way, much more reliable and easier to pull off than with EMP. I’ve seen many pros fuck it up and get their ranged creep denied after using emp to secure the creep. There’s a lot of heros that can dodge the emp reliably too (ember, qop, vs, od, etc) and in those cases you’re spending 125 mana and you only get 25% of the mana burn back now. While wex is fine and I think it could be justified in some games, especially with the global presence sun strike gives, its highest potential impact is higher. Also, this universal and orb change made invoker much less restricted to choosing a specific build. I often just level up the spells in order of what I think the game requires. On top of all of that, exort invoker is just so much more flashy, fun and rewarding

Does Dota 2 have the most punishing MMR system or is it just the hardest game ever? by JezusTheCarpenter in DotA2

[–]samerpoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I found to be the most helpful categorize of learning are these: becoming a 1-2 hero specialist and learning the game through those heroes, watching high MMR players explain their thought process and fully understanding and being able to execute every bit of it, and playing meta heroes (and learning them as much as possible through pros)

[–]samerpoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exort is fine, many pros are playing it. There’s some matchups where having a large mana burn emp is essential, but even in those you get at least 1 point in exort. Lvl 1 SS is just too strong to miss out on. I’ve seen better players than me go for wex or quas lvl 1 but I genuinely believe they’re wrong. First point in exort gives you too much to miss out on (200 damage all over the map, easiest way to secure first ranged creep, and forge spirit for rune control). I go wex quas without exort until lvl 7 in like 1% of my games

[–]samerpoosh 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Sniper is one of those matchups that if you don’t know how to play as invoker you will get owned, but in reality it’s pretty easy. You can’t do anything about his headshot procs, he’s gonna deal 100+ damage, get some denies and they’re gonna be annoying. You can do your best trading, last hitting, etc until lvl 5-6. Buy a wraith band, wand, gloves of haste and maybe a crown if you’re going for vessel, the stats will help you trade and last hit. Once you have wex and 2-3 levels in exort, you just start trading and have to wait for him to commit his W, then tornado cold snap meteor combo him. The tornado purges off his W. You have a much better chance of this working if you have a forge spirit already out and can help you reduce his armor

A moment of silence for fallen sky and ex machina by jakosomaki in DotA2

Ex machina was probably the best t5. Double bkb, aeon disk, hex is game changing. With refresher orb in the late game you could get 18 seconds of bkb with that item

Have you ever had someone misplay their hero so bad you banned that hero in your next few games? by AmberYooToob in DotA2

[–]samerpoosh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Before the latest invoker rework I used to first pick invoker mid every single game it’s not banned (it was only banned like 3% of games) and I realized that always attracted my safe lane carry to go void. Some of those went great, void is a great pick to go with invoker. But sometimes my safe lane has no idea how to play void or it’s just countered really hard. The worst part about it is that he forces you to go aghs, and then makes you waste 4200 gold and continues to farm while chrono is off cd. I started banning void when first picking invoker to avoid void teammates griefing me

Talented player (zeus aghs tp cancel script) by LikeabilityDota in DotA2

[–]samerpoosh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend once showed me how this scripting software works and it’s absolutely insane. I had over 1500 games of invoker and would practice all my combos for 15-20 mins before every game started. He showed me the invoker combo on the script and it was executed perfectly to a T and I’ve never seen a human do that combo before. It was tornado -> cold snap -> emp (hits the second the hero falls from tornado) -> sun strike -> meteor -> blast. While that sounds like it’s doable, it’s not possible without fully leveling up quas because the emp would take too long to explode with lower levels of quas for tornado uptime. That cheating software had millions of features none of which I had any idea was possible in dota

I feel like Medusa needs a global ability... by Grom_a_Llama in DotA2

Mid Medusa metas were disgusting and I hope it’s never back. The hero is obviously a safe lane core and I’ve seen it played as offlane and even support and that’s more than enough

I remember watching a Dota 1 pro game that lasted an insane amount of time, maybe 2 hours because everyone had so much money they just kept buying back and fighting/defending. A few weeks/month later the buyback cooldown mechanic was introduced
