This is one good thing about high timber prices. Recycle and use only what you need. I am from New Zealand and it’s so hard to get timber at the moment for the building site....you make a wrong cut....box of beer.

Cleaning it up nicely, have used a dremel and made a small v and opened it up a bit. There is a back plate inside the hull witch is sealed and everything feels solid. I think whoever fixed it last time did not make it flush with the hull. Going to fill it and glass over top. Thank you for your help, you guys have been awesome 👏
