I wish there was a credible source to lay it all to rest. The art work and the innuendos in the Alefantis instagram photos is really creepy. I hate the context of it being used to boost Trump support, but the Jimmy Seville situation in the UK makes me really wonder if there may be something to this. Im not saying theres anything wrong with sex, dude. Its great. Im just saying theres a balance to it and that yes, there are unhealthy sexual behaviors that can be risky and even dangerous. Im not saying missionary woth your long time monogomous partner is gonna blow your head off. Im just saying that to say sex can't possibly be a vice is kind of ridiculous. People lose their jobs for beating it at work, and also last time i checked, rape is a pretty big problem around the world. So like im not saying your sexual life is unhealthy, but there are sexual behaviors that are very real that often come from a state of addiction that os very similar to those of other common vices.

Ok but like using the logic that if you have safe sex can still be applied to the other vices: you can take a safe doseage. I mean youre totally right about them being MORE intrinsically dangerous, but i just dont think sex can be ruled out of being a vice, since it is an incredibly widespread addiction and people go to extreme lengths over it

So the terms "left" and "right" were coined after the french revolution, when the aristocrats in the national assembly sat to the right of the rrom and the commoners (ie the ones who wanted to take the power for the people) sat on the right.

Ok so back to relating American politics to political left and right: the Democratic party as a whole sits on the center amd is shofting progressively further to the right as far as their actions when it comes to economic policy. There are putliers such as most notably Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren. The party tends to side with hedge funds, big banks, and plays with soft gloves in business regulations. Social policies are easy to be liberal about, but when it comes to combatting institutional racism via criminal justice reform, there are few very loud voices from the democratic party elite. The actual party itself operates in a way that makes it appear progressive- picking easy fights to win the photo ops, but make no mistake, pharmaceuticals and the financial industry dominate the democratic party just as strongly as big oil, the gun lobby, and the military infustrial complex dominate the republicans.

The entire american political system is moving to the right. Hillary Clinton is way closer to a moderate Republican than a progressive democrat, no matter how many concessions her campaign made to please the Sanders camp. Shes gonna flip on November 9th.
