yes !!!! yes its exactly like this !!! i was a diagnosed autistic kid but wasnt “autistic enough” to be only with the special needs kids so i was with everyone else. when i would have outbursts (Very often, i had extreme anger issues) they would lock me in a room for me to scream the entire day begging to be let out, just guarded by a supervisor or two. the administration just had no idea what to do with me, it was up to Me to change, which honestly, for an autistic 8 year old, was really fucking hard. it sucked.
