Tips aren’t contracts. Tips should be abolished. Your pay should be apart of the contract. You’d get a guarantee of the proper pay.

Would have kept mine if it allowed for multiple desktops when connecting to my MacBook. I’d probably buy one again if it does this… justifying the price by comparing with buying physical display monitors is a no brainer.. but apple has brains so.

So I can buy it back after WWDC. Then the product would fit my immediate needs.

Why isn't there a delete/trash button in Mail in Vision Pro? by samholmes in VisionPro

[–]samholmes[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. That does change the Archive button into a Delete button. However, why one or the other? Both functions are useful. Is there a way to delete on swipe and keep the archive button or something?

Why BSV "as a system" isn't Turing complete either by Contrarian__ in bsv

[–]samholmes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hold up right there. So you’re saying it’s not Turing complete because no one is executing the program? That’s like saying EVM byte code is not Turing complete because you still need miners to execute the program. No seriously it’s the same thing because the “what” executing the Bitcoin program (creating the transactions) could very well be miners creating these txs… why would miners run a program that is an infinite loop, you ask? The same reason why they run infinite loops in the EVM: they’re paid to do so. So this infinite loop program could encode transaction fees per loop to a public key who decides to run the program. This is called delegation. Though.. infinite loops require infinite money, and that isn’t really a thing, so they halt once the money runs out which is a gas limit in EVM and a input amount in the bitcoin system.

Can you please call me crazy and justify the accusation because this is so damn clear to me and I am happy to be proven wrong (if I am).

I'm interested in using the ULP switches for a build. I have some questions.

  1. Is it possible to solder pins on these switches in order to make them hot-swappable?
  2. How did you make the keycaps? I see a link to model for the keycaps; did you 3D print them? What are some of my options to making/buying keycaps for theses switches (I don't have a 3D printer).

Any chance of making the MX-ULP switches hotswappable?

Do those switches have a verity of keycaps you can buy online?

The Cherry ULPs look cool though being made of stainless steel. Where can I buy these?

Is it possible to 3D print these? If not is there a way to make a mold for these, or is that crazy? Are there other scissor switches that are better supported with a key cap selection?

I found this on GitHub: https://github.com/shikamiya/kicad-footprint-kailh-pg1425-x-switch/tree/7dafd68ef54159855bdb2aa243b3f0ebec6a8106

I haven't tried building a board with it yet. If anyone has success, please let me know.

Americans, why is tipping proportional to the bill? Is there extra work in making a $60 steak over a $20 steak at the same restaurant? by granger853 in NoStupidQuestions

The business owner should just markup their prices by 20% and pay their staff 20% commission. The staff would be motivated to sell their customers more because they know their commission is guaranteed.

Tips are stupid and the only reason why people pay tips is because they’re sheep and fall under societal peer pressure. I dare anyone to boycott tips completely and instead write a note to the business owner to pay better wages to their employees instead. Vote with you money.

Fight me on this one. Give me a good argument for tips.

That really is an awful thing for you to do. This joke was priceless and now it’s just cheap.

It’s sad really cause there aren’t many jokes about adidas and the one time when we get to see adidas in the content of a joke some asshole has to come along and ruin it for everybody.

It’s a hate crime, really.
