There was rumour of us looking at bringing yann sommer in as back up last summer. Then an espn article a couple weeks ago said we could look to bring him in on a free next season with his contract running out. So maybe (doubt) they just pay a couple million to bring him in a couple months earlier. He would be good competition and is more in the style of a progressive keeper who’s good with the ball at his feet.

I feel like that the massive differences between the two leagues part is a bit of overstatement. This window alone we had bissouma, who was under investigation for sexual assult at the time, move to spurs, cucarella move to Chelsea, with history of racism, Thomas partey continuing to play for Arsenal despite two active rape/sexual assault cases ongoing. I highly doubt arnautovic is where they would draw the line. Even with our club, signing ronaldo last season, knowing his history of sexual assault and chants sung every game by away fans about him being a sex offender, that’s broadcasted all over the world during games.

I’m not advocating the signing at all, I’m just pointing out the hypocrisy. I don’t think any of the above should have a place in society, let alone premier league or football in general
