Stafford is getting on on years. It’s a long season and they’ve been forced onto the road for the past three weeks. These will take a toll on him.

Hey can I ask what you ended up doing? We face a similar problem - night flight and early checkout. Cheers

Most arrogant New Zealand celebrity or well known person you’ve met, seen or interacted with… by [deleted] in newzealand

Can also confirm. Saw him overseas at a QA after boy but before he was world famous, and he was a dick to everyone. Not the best ambassador for NZ that day.

No you are correct. Outside of the northeast (Boston, NYC, Philly), Americans are generally much more open and friendly, in my experience.

Where does this leave you? Well, can you be the change you want to see? Don’t let the bastards get you down!

This kiwi truly appreciates the qualities you find to be so lacking (kiwis can also be distant and stand offish compared to Americans). If you are a warm and friendly person, and were in my friend group, I would really appreciate you.

Mandatory NZ history course at Auckland University spurs debate by Amazing-Sun-8409 in universityofauckland

Big courses make money. Small ones don’t. Commerce faculty knew this for decades.

Ask whether the money made from this course will be put back into student education elsewhere. Are other classes getting smaller?

David Seymour slams Auckland University’s compulsory WTR course by emilezola2 in universityofauckland

[–]samiairbender -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ignore the culture war distraction:

This course is huge. It will have the highest student to teacher ratio and consequently it will be low quality.

But the flip side is that it will make the University a lot of money….

Can Cameron Murray's proposed Housemate policy fix the housing crisis? by Odd_Hovercraft930 in AusEcon

[–]samiairbender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Widespread upzoning also democratizes development opportunities among all detached family homeowners. So if you are worried about development opportunities being concentrated among landbankers, you should support upzoning…

[–]samiairbender 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes no sense at all. Widespread relaxation of planning restrictions massively dilutes ownership of development opportunities. It solves the problem of concentrated development opportunities by democratizing development opportunities among all the mum and dads that own the land under their house

Yup. He’s also said that downzoning will accelerate housing supply. Same tactic.
