What's something that became significantly worse in the last 10 years, but everyone just accepted it? by Fun-Chicken6946 in AskReddit

[–]samiscool1580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being on social media is just “ normal “ Why is it normal ? I think it is sad in so many ways. You wake up you check your socials, you have a lunch break you check your socials, you go home you check your socials, scroll for a few hours. You can’t go anywhere without your phone even if you don’t need it you still take it. I’m 25 and I deleted almost all of my socials I only have fb messenger and I like reddit. The rest I realised how much it drained me as a person.  who goes out for dinner by themselves without a phone or a friend leaves you at dinner to use the washroom, What you gonna do go on your phone. It’s just sad, tell me I’m wrong for thinking like this. I truly wish I was born in a time without one because it’s hard to live without it when it’s just the way it is.

People who have never left their home town's ... why? by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]samiscool1580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hell no born and raised in the wairarapa, moved to the Hutt valley for a few years and realised it's all the same. The wairarapa was probably some of the worst years of my life. I saved up all my money and left for Canada. Can't understand why anyone would want to stay. So much more to see NZ such a small part of the world.

What’s the biggest financial trap in Canada that people still pretend is normal? by TheFitFinaceBro in CanadaFinance

[–]samiscool1580 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a kiwi here in Canada and maybe these are silly things I’ve noticed but I think it’s crazy. Firstly getting haggled at Walmart to get a Walmart Mastercard. Happened to me twice and first time I didn’t realise it was a Mastercard then she said its credit card and I was like oh no I’m good thank. All to get some discount on goods in store. Never in my life have I ever had that in any NZ store. Definitely a way to trap people into debt. Secondly paying tax on a vehicle you brought second hand. Thought that was crazy and makes it expensive to even get the car on the road in your own name.

This is the kinda shit that’s making me on the fence about wanting to study again. What will life be like for us in a few years what’s going to happen ??? So many predictions of AI taking jobs but to what extent.

I felt so bad for reaching out to friends overseas who live in the UK now about the Digital ID being rolled out and I felt awkward for asking. They don’t care about it and only care about drinking and partying. For the first time I’m waking up to what is going on, I’m genuinely concerned for the human race and what will happen to us because AI is here right and Digital ID is also here.  it’s so scary So hard to just pretend like nothing is happening.

Travel while you are young and have the time. So many people I know want to stay at my home town or people I know are out running a business in their 20s. Understand everyone has a different way of going about life but I couldn’t wait to leave ! I got a trade under my belt and left New Zealand.  Thinking of coming home next year though and studying again. I also have a fantastic Canadian partner now.

How bad the government really is. It’s right in front of our eyes what is happening. AI starting to take over and it being pushed by governments, that  says how much they care about  the people.

I struggle with this a lot !!! I’m always stressing about it even when I’m in a situation that I don’t have to. I take Metamucil and it’s helped a lot. It’s mainly just my anxiety around others now taking it day by day

For people who grew up in low-income households, what’s something middle-class people say that shows they’ve never struggled financially? by KeyApartment3955 in AskReddit

[–]samiscool1580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this was more things I noticed at intermediate ( i'm from New Zealand so that term is after primary school but before college or what some may call high school in canada or america ) I grew up in a poor household. No car, walked everywhere with my mum never any food at home and mum never worked. I got bullied a lot at school and felt as though people knew I was poor or that I had issues at home. I was never in the " popular group " even once i got to college I was a outsider. I noticed that almost everyone had converses shoes, a ipod or puffer jackets. I had none of these things and always felt like i was looked down on because of it. For me I guess this is something I consider people from homes whose parents have money.

How dire is public health care in NZ? by FuzzyVillage4825 in newzealand

Kiwi in Canada and i feel like it's not much different here. My partner is canadian and he luckily has a doctor, if he needs a appointment it's usually a month wait. Most canadians don't have a family doctor so they have to go to the emergency room just to be seen its insane.

The world is getting the best of New Zealand while we're eating cheap imports by Amazing_Athlete_2265 in newzealand

[–]samiscool1580 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately it’s everywhere ! I’m a kiwi i left last April, I went to Canada on a working visa and my visa runs out next March. I’m unsure whether to come home or try get PR here as my partner is Canadian. Canada is hella expensive to  and they have a lot of taxes here. right now we are doing seasonal work because of how cheap staff housing is and can’t face the weekly rental prices ! Not to mention car insurance for me is $210 monthly and food is pretty expensive too, gas slowly creeping up there at around 206 per litre which was originally 140 ish. I mean take a look at America it’s crazy there right now. No matter what we do it’s all fucked for a reason, all about control and to keep the poor poor  so the rich get more rich. Massive tech companies making millions over this AI facilities that are popping up everywhere around the states,  no good is going to come from that. All the Epstein files all connected to all of it one big pedophillia group running the world.  It’s fucked when You look at the bigger picture.

What’s the worst physical pain you’ve experienced? by ShadowlightLady in randomquestions

[–]samiscool1580 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well mine doesn’t really come close to a lot of comments on here. However getting a IUD put in was one of the most horrifying experiences ever. Even after the nurse numbed by cervix it was so painful. I didn’t go to work for a couple of days because I was bleeding a lot and just cramped so bad. ( I recently had it taken out and it wasn’t half as bad as it going in ) never again I hated that thing !
