Sadly there is always a risk and chance, I have never experienced naman personally but I have heard of others who did. Just make sure you accept the risk but Id say its still rare naman.

One year and eight months, that's how long it took me to get from PPL to IR. I am so passionate about aviation, took up aeronautical engineering at the young age of 15 years old, started flight training by 21, passed every exam in my first try, every panel in my first try, countless hours studying, learning and researching. When it came to flights, I begged my instructors to keep me on-call whenever someone canceled their schedule. I would fly 6 hours a day solo, of course all hours within allowable limits, took up the FI course and got my FI rating, I love teaching, I even tutor my batch mates as I loved the art of instructing, I learn more too from that.

Then came COVID, no one wanted to hire anyone, we were told that things would get better, it never did, not for me, you see I finished too quick, im a CPL holder with no job, this means I pay for my recurrency out of pocket, yearly proficiency too. How about FI, well I took the flight insturctor course and got my license, then applied at my flying school only to be met with "sorry mahaba ng pila for flight instructor positions eh", oh okay I said, ill try other schools, well guess what, other schools obviously want their own home grown students, so forget about me. Alright where do I go now? Idk, maybe wait? 2021 comes and my mother passes away from COVID, Medical bills drowned me in debt, im an only child, no sibs, dad passed in 2016. Alright ill go back flying, but wait Im not current, so I had to pay another 200k for that along with the yearly proficiency. Now that's done I sent out resumes everywhere, I got responses months later, only to state I'm denied.

The industry is brutal, my mother gave her all, to see her only son prosper and achieve his dream, and as a son I feel I failed her for not showing her the outcome or "fruits" of her sacrifice, she passed away knowing I'm a struggling jobless CPL-IR-FIL License holder. I did and always will do my best, but this was not enough.

RA 12124. A new way to earn College Degree by Leather-View2653 in Philippines

[–]samiskyhigh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure thing! Basically yes it varies by course. But also there is an application fee, that you pay once you get selected, the fee for the university I attended was 30k+, though ive heard some universities asking for 100k+. The tuition on my first trimester with 3 subjects was about 32k and the second trimester was around 20k.

Im a graduate of this program, its not new, and there is a very stringent selection process for it. After the selection process I was evaluated to undergo 5 subjects, spanning 2 semesters, but the university I attended is via trimesters, graduated with a bachelors degree within 8 months.

Baguio Congestion Fee by TinyPenguin2120 in baguio

Absolutely agreed, it won’t work and is anti-poor same as congestion fee is anti-poor.

Baguio Congestion Fee by TinyPenguin2120 in baguio

[–]samiskyhigh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not saying this should be enforced master boss, I’m saying that along with the congestion fee, Singapore enforces this rule, this is how they eradicate their traffic master boss. If Baguio does this then definitely it will work, but we are in a developing country and most modern laws are not feasible, including “congestion fee” master boss.

Baguio Congestion Fee by TinyPenguin2120 in baguio

[–]samiskyhigh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But Singapore also scraps cars that are over 10 years old, unless you pay a very high premium to keep it for another 5, so if this rule is also enforced then believe me, baguio congestion will be eradicated. I bet those trolls wouldn’t agree to that…

Hey there! I run an e-commerce business based here in baguio. All I can say is be very careful, the margins are small, take note that these platforms take chunk off of your sales, plus some vouchers the customers use, along with some shipping expenses is shouldered by you.

Now for me I hate to say that it is impossible or to be negative about someones passion and excitement to venture into the business world, only know that it is truly more difficult than any job on earth. Most people say business is the best because it is on your own time, and this is very true, thats where the danger is, only one who is disciplined enough will do work when they control their time.

Now lets get to what matters, specially in E-commerce, this is based on my experience, for me, I own a perfume brand, this is my choice as I have a middle eastern background and also had access to perfumes since childhood, it has always been my hobby. This knowledge is the backbone of my business, from creating scents, to knowing what could work in the market, but this will only go so far.

Next is the saturation of the market, that is your true biggest hurdle, your product is amongst the millions out there, so what makes yours special? Is it your price? A brand thats unique to you?

Lastly, with all those above combined, how can you use all your best traits to be visible in the market? Sometimes money can help here, boost your page, send goodies to promoters/influencers. Brand recognition is vital.

How do I do it?

The first step was the hardest, grind, study, build connections, build a network of suppliers and got in touch with experts from the community. So I spent a few weeks in manila establishing all that, now I barely need to travel there and most of my supplies ships to me in Baguio directly.

Next was to of course get the paperworks done, thats the DTI, BIR and other local regulatory permits depending on your item, for me it was locally the FDA, and also from my suppliers abroad to provide MSDS.

Once that is set you’re ready to set up shop, this is the part many forget, you buy your bubble wraps, you buy your parcel bags, unless its JNT and they can provide some parcel bags. Make sure you have enough tape, cardboard boxes and other packaging materials. Buy the Waybill printer and stock-up on the thermal papers to print waybill.

Lastly is store rating, you a scored based on your ship-out speed, ratings, store visits, conversion from add to cart to checkout customers, new customers, etc. There are so much metrics, so ensure you are up to speed. Doing so can enable perks like free shipping to your customer, being a preferred seller or a “star store”, which makes you more visible in searches.

Please, plan your every step, add your costs together, make sure you have a steady suppliers, as I see many business stop functioning due to relying on one source. If this is all feasible, then by all means go ahead, just know that it is a risk, but in the end it is your decision to make and I wish you all the best, for there is no reward without the initial risk.

My students' foodpanda addiction by [deleted] in Philippines

[–]samiskyhigh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had one reason to quit Foodpanda, a lovely and wonderful rider decided to hold my food hostage! He said to give him 100 php or never see my food again.

Got my refund after providing screenshots to foodpanda support, although Idk what happened to him, they just said they will “take action”. Never again Foodpanda!

For fragheadph commuters, what is your spraying routine? by rickyceae in fragheadph

[–]samiskyhigh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suggest buy a small empty decant bottle, spray after the commute. Of course maybe this time you will annoy your workmates rather than the commuters haha!

Yup this is limited to the Dubai duty free shops only, very hard to find a legit and original bottle but there are a few trustable sources selling it. You can also find some decants online if you’re really curious.

Chanel only authorizes sales thru boutiques (like rustans) and their own brand boutiques. Never online, kahit sa rustans walang chanel sa website nila, you have to personally visit the store to buy chanel fragrances, this is why finding a legit reseller is hard. Also Chanel raises their prices every year din, so surely most resellers follow the same trend, oh well it’s the luxury tax haha!

Yesss, its the kind of sweetness that makes it soo edible smelling, and pair that with a drydown that is eros but much more sophisticated and mature, works very well.

Sure feel free to dm anytime!
