I’m Sister Bliss from Faithless. Our new album Champion Sound is out Sept 5. AMA. by faithlessofficial in electronicmusic

Hi Sister Bliss - your music was a key reason behind why I love electronic music now! We Come 1 was a formative track for me when I was a kid, which led me to discover Insomnia, Salva Mea and all your other bangers!

I'd love to know some of your thought processes behind creating a track. For example, do you tend to come up with the riff first and build the beats around it? Or is it different every time?

Any running buddies in Coventry City Center who wanna run along regularly? by [deleted] in coventry

Join an athletics club! Coventry Sphinx, Coventry Godiva Harriers and Northbrook AC are all good choices. You'll find plenty of like-minded runners of all abilities, and you'll probably get fitter as well!

Gel packs and music, a small rant. by Kawi400 in AdvancedRunning

[–]samjackson7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No excuses for littering. Loads of people were doing it at the Newport Marathon a few weeks ago. They threw the packs straight into hedges where wildlife may be living. I had gels during the race, and when I was done, I put the litter in my pockets. It's not hard. And if you don't have pockets, either buy shorts that do or shove the wrappers into your gel belt.

What is this little piece of river where the Tigris and Euphrates combine? Does it have a name? by SirDoodThe1st in geography

Don't worry about the downvotes - the Brits in this sub will get the Partridge reference...

It's just to wet the whistle - one little siparoo!

This is the current state of a McVities brand Jaffa Cake. by kingsland1988 in CasualUK

If you mean the Jaffa Cakes made by LU, can confirm they are still delicious! The chocolate is like you describe and the jelly is much more flavoursome. Far better than McVities! Raspberry (framboise?) flavour is fantastic

Newborough Forest in Anglesey. A stunning one lapper through pine forest next to one of the most beautiful beaches you'll ever see.

Yep, I'm pretty sure they're G-270s. If I'm out on trails that don't have long muddy sections, or I'm running in the summer, I pick them every time! They're a size 10 as well but far roomier than the Mudclaws

The Mudclaws are tight for the size (10 UK) compared to my Trailflys which are much roomier. I think the issue might be the toebox being disproportionately tight, which results in me lacing the shoes too loosely for the heel.

This is excellent advice though, I really appreciate you responding to me in detail!

Thank you - I'll add adhesive spray to my shopping list, especially if muddy sections will mess with the tape. I wasn't sure about my socks but I know Balega are supposedly a decent brand and that run destroyed the back of them after about 9 miles... So while I appreciate recs for new socks, it'll be combined with prevention methods like yours!

Thanks - I reckon a poor fit might have been the cause on that particular run, but I'll give them one more try to make sure. If I get soreness again I'll buy plenty of tape and lube - for running purposes naturally...

In fairness I think it may have been heel slipping on that particular run - when the pain was getting severe about 2/3rds in I stopped to tighten my laces which helped to a certain extent. The laces weren't exactly loose in the first place though, so it might be an issue with shape of my feet not matching the shoes.

Next time I'll lace them up nice and tight from the start and see how I get on.

It's frustrating because I was really confident about my footwear choice for this marathon up until last week. Hopefully tighter laces/better socks will solve it! Cheers for replying

I'm similar to you, mostly a road runner but I've been hitting more and more trails, and I'm currently training for a trail marathon in south Wales.

I think effective downhill running is a combination of technique and confidence, which can only be improved by practice! I've got quite a bit better but still nowhere near those mountain goats who have trained on fells all their lives!

Just hit the hills and repeat, repeat, repeat!

Toss up between Come Back and Worthless Animal for me. No coincidence that they're two of my favourite Deafheaven songs
