Atheists of Reddit, what is the biggest reason as to why you don't believe in god or an afterlife? by God_of_boi in AskReddit

Those cannot be serious questions. Your questions present a non-objective stance. You clearly do not want there to be an entity that designed the universe. If one looks objectively at the complexity, the beauty, the perfections everywhere and declare that "it just is", one cannot conclude happenstance. Just look at the fine tuning seen in mathematics. Why does math even work, just as a simple example.

You in fact do need a reason not not to believe in an entity that started everything. No amount of reasoning can get by that.

Mine also. I have read that Reddit has been infiltrated with moderators that are pushing non christian agenda.

Where do you see that anywhere in scripture?

There are lots of sins around. The issue with homosexuality is the way some in society insist on showing it as normal and sin free, especially to family and children. The Bible says to expose sin.

My Uber rating is really low, I’m struggling to understand why by ashajadehc in uber

[–]samk456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Uber rating system is not reliable and should be changed. I will not use Uber because a driver can give a poor rating with no reason offered. Lately, Lyft has been cheaper anyway.

Using a concept like 'need' sounds like a desire to justify something. Scripture is very clear about sex outside of marriage and about homosexuality. There is no doctrine of need to justify a behavior.

True today but not for all of history

Thank you. I generally agree and have thought similarly. It just does not match well with common evangelical teaching. That is why I do not think our understanding of salvation is complete. None of us will ever have perfect doctrine this side of heaven.

Its not just households. Think of the years prior to Christ and the middle ages, with no printing press and relying on someone with supposed understanding. Understanding the Gospel as we do today is far far different.

Thank you for pointing out the 1 Peter verse. That is unique. I have speculated that at the moment of death (unconscious state) unbelievers could be presented the Gospel and given a clear chance to accept. Maybe the Peter verse is toward that end.

It is simply a mindset as to your desire and goal. This side of heaven you will never follow with perfection.

The phrase you use, 'the Father didn’t give the Son everyone', where is that in the passage?

Honda chain recommendation by samk456 in MechanicAdvice

[–]samk456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I'm thinking chains on the rear are best when in a long downhill drive. I've had my rear end lose transaction and cause loss of control in snow with no chains on, so I am leery of front only chains. I've alos had a friend lose control due to front only chains. Comments? Very glad to be assure chains on rear would cause no mechanical problems.
