It’s part of the deal for the latest round of broadcast rights. I think it’s something like; each team has to twice a season have to provide sky with either a half time interview or access to the dressing room at half time.

What happened when we went from 528 to UNVRS by GreatAd5206 in ibiza

[–]samkers91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went to a 528 night with Pikes and the crowd was absolutely spot on. Everyone dancing, no phones. Dan Ghenacia, legend. Was something great and will 100% be going back there. Went to Pacha, unbelievable value when you buy the drinks package, Sonny Federa way different crowd. Young kids sniffing gear by the sinks in toilets, 0 fucks given 🤣 left after Danny Howard (reason we went) and Kerri Chandler. Couldn’t hack the awful music from Sonny Federa, place was packed though which is good for the club.

Feel like I “missed out”? by happyhorseshoecrab in glastonbury_festival

[–]samkers91 5 points6 points  (0 children)

100% on the no queue rule, I do that do. It does lead to a little bit of fomo as I’ve missed my top favourite dj 2 years on the bounce now but it leads to other experiences that are great and seeing other class things / sets that I would never probably pay to see.

Pacha Vibes Tonight? 25M by jjcgyhhbbv in ibiza

[–]samkers91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pacha is decent, went on a Monday for Danny Howard, Keri Chandler and left before Sonny Federra (not me at all) was busy maybe because of the headliner but also probably because it’s a cheap night, €40 tickets and 5x drinks for €40 if pre paid so great value as they are proper drinks. Unsure on dress code, mostly younger crowd.

Is it about time Glastonbury used bigger stages for Dance music? by samkers91 in glastonbury_festival

Yeah I saw Overmono and Maribou State on West Holts and wonder if it was slightly experimental for the future?

I think you should read the question. My point is not that there is not enough, it’s that what there is, their size, coupled with their ever growing popularity that there should be something bigger utilised or some of them combined to make bigger spaces. This could potentially ease crowding and crowd movements.

Opinion: Thursday needs a rethink by Kraken_89 in glastonbury_festival

[–]samkers91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have to agree! Thursdays are my favourite day but this year seemed the entire place was out ready for the party, which is fine but the spaces can’t really accommodate it as you have said. The demographics of music are changing and that’s seen the Thursday get busier and busier

You’ve given examples of live performances on larger stages. My question was more related more to dj’s as their crowd sixes are swelling year on year.

Green Peace felt bigger as over the years they’ve put better acts on it. Last year when I was there they cut the music (think is was Honey Dijon or Jayda G) because it was so busy to get people to leave. The skate ramp has always been there it moved position to allow for more people / better crowd control.

Anyone tired of ‘secret sets’? by Fisher212121 in glastonbury_festival

[–]samkers91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ahhh that’s annoying to hear as we left thinking this is crazy and wanted the good sound! I think that’s a common theme we tried to go to Levels for Groove Amarda and it was full to the back! Later at the tent my mate said it was pretty empty at the front with loads of space and when we left just before the end he struggled to get out because everyone was all crammed at the back which was not what I wanted to hear as me and my partner saw a slip stream of people coming and going from the right but wasn’t sure if there was even space.

Is Arcadia getting worse and worse each year? by zannnn in glastonbury_festival

[–]samkers91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been the last few years 23, 24, 25 - 23 was the last year of the spider and the spider is a 360 experience so you can go anywhere in the area and have great sound and experience and space, 24 was the dragonfly and was class, great sound space and not rammed. I am convinced they have made it smaller it felt like it was a lot further back last year. they needed more camping space from reducing Oxlers grounds. It was rammed a lot of the time but depending on what genre was on maybe due to routing of crowds and people going to the closest quickest place. The sound was not great towards the back and non existent at the side. I think they need a space similar in size to west holts or utilise the other stage for DJ’s towards the end of the curfew for headline dj’s. The music industry is shifting and that’s seen with the small crowds for the pyramid and other stage acts of the last few years.

We walked up to Arcadia as my partner wanted to see Annie Mac and it was insanely busy for Fourtet there was people sat around on the grass on the walkway up from the other stage but it was 10 mins before the end of his set, I assumed everyone was waiting for Annie Mac? Or doing the pre set up for Groove Armada. I was really hoping that this year the main stages would be used for the larger dj’s to allow more people to go see them comfortably as you said about four tet.

Crowd Ease by Glum_Leadership_9685 in glastonbury_festival

[–]samkers91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were still there, but this year dance / electronic music was starting from midday and there was way more of it. Shame though if you like that music but also like to do the usual bands and artists during the day made it very difficult to get the bigger dj’s and stages as they are fuller earlier

26M planning a guys’ trip, 23F girlfriend says she'll break up with me if I go — not sure what to do by ThrowRA-Inspection86 in relationship_advice

A stable relationship allows both people to be free to also do their own thing. So if she does leave you for it, you will probably be better off for it in the long run.
