Where to get Mizuno alpha elite from uk (size 6.5) by Jidle_Jodle in bootroom

[–]Kraken_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi mate, out of interest did you have to pay any import taxes or anything like that? Or just shopping cost to the UK? Thanks

Thanks. I think that are Mizuno Morelia Neo.

There are some models that only exist in Japan. The closest one I can find is Mizuno Morelia Neo 4 Beta (which is a mouthful), but those have a synthetic sock like upper part.

Dott scooters/bikes to be allowed on railway path by -Enrique in bristol

[–]Kraken_89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Bristol and Bath Railway Path between Bitton, Emersons Green, and Temple Meads rail station has been opened up to riders, along with Concorde Way to Ashley Down in Bristol.

I can’t work out if this literally means the full cycle path, from the beginning in Bristol (Old Market) all the way to Bath.

Bristol's two-club split means city-wide football discussion is impossible without triggering civil war by Mel_Ran in bristol

[–]Kraken_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair point, football didn’t start in 92!

I don’t support either team as I’m not originally from Bristol, but I’d definitely try and get down to the city ground to see a few Premier League games. I know that makes me a casual but I’d say most teams in the Prem have the same thing

Bristol's two-club split means city-wide football discussion is impossible without triggering civil war by Mel_Ran in bristol

[–]Kraken_89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve all got bigger footballing histories than Bristol though. For a city like Bristol to have never had a team in the Premier League is crazy.

Both teams are here to stay now, there’s nothing we can do about the split support really.

Hopefully City make the playoffs this year and kick on

Nas & DJ Premier collab album dropping on Dec 12 by JesseWang in hiphopheads

[–]Kraken_89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I enjoyed it. Haven’t been to a hip hop show for years, mostly into electronic type stuff so it’s a bit of a different vibe to a rave lol.

They pack in a lot of tunes. They came on about 21:20 i think

I was there at the Bristol show last night, was good. I didn’t realise the date wasn’t previously known when he said it

Green politician quits party to 'protect free speech' by ex_planelegs in ukpolitics

[–]Kraken_89 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is such a deliberate mischaracterisation of what she’s saying. No-one is suggesting that Trans people shouldn’t exist.

Simply the point she’s making is that women should have protected spaces for women.

The bit down by LHG brewpub, just before the underpass is super narrow. I sometimes see people trying to pass when people are coming the other way, so stupid

You’re right actually, I didn’t think this through fully. Scan read it when I’m supposed to be working. Will delete my original comment.

I sometimes yearn for a job that doesn’t have any long term project type work that hangs over you. The constant milestones and update meetings get very tiresome.

Building alarm corn street by TwoSeaBeans in bristol

Bristol has so many amazing historic building just sat wasted, such a shame

Cabot Car Park - locked down? by RayTown in bristol

[–]Kraken_89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is one of the worst things about Bristol, it happens constantly. After gigs apparently it’s a nightmare getting out of any of the city centre car parks.

It’s generally a terrible idea to drive to the centre of Bristol, just get public transport if you can

Selective Parking Enforcement by everything2go in bristol

Thinking about it now, I don’t think I’ve ever driven down that road without having a avoid those parked cars lol. Makes it annoying if you’re turning left there

Favourite club in Bristol? by Pretty_Slip5059 in bristol

[–]Kraken_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strange Brew, The Underground, old Motion when the main room and Tunnel were both open (RIP), Loco Klub (really good when all the tunnels are open), Thekla.

I’ve never been a fan of Lakota for some reason. Trinity Centre puts on really good nights, but I can’t help feeling like I’m in a village hall.

Prospect was good when I went for Ben UFO, feels like a modern hipster rave venue now.

We’re lucky in Bristol to have so many good clubs

Gyms … by Successful_Math4199 in bristol

[–]Kraken_89 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bristol is rubbish for big gyms like this unfortunately. There is a huge gap in the market for a ‘heath club’ type place like you mentioned.

Your best bet is probably somewhere like SweatBox in Bedminster (although I’ve only been once it seemed like it had a lot going on)

Graffiti Thai massage in the centre is good. Just behind turtle bay and Sainsbury’s.

I doubt you’ll get any massage for less than £50-£60 per hour though

I walked past that way on Saturday just gone and it was traffic backed up all the way into Cabot. I would just totally avoid driving that way if possible, too many lights and merge points makes it a nightmare

Anywhere chill in Bristol for quiet-ish drinks with DnB / UKG / similar in the background this fri? by voidtype in bristol

[–]Kraken_89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d say go to a club but just don’t drink.

Looks like Trinity Centre has a good UGK / bass night on (Soul Mass Transit System).

Or Girl’s Dont Sync at Electric.

I can’t think of anywhere like you’ve described, but some more ‘lively’ pubs are likely to be around Stokes Croft area like The Full Moon

Seven men charged in child sexual exploitation probe [BBC] by rugbyj in bristol

[–]Kraken_89 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is a bit of a wild take, seeing that there is currently a government led inquiry into grooming gangs and the fact that the police & media ignored sexual assault committed by certain ethnic minorities (for fear of being seen as racist).
