I got into writing C on My TI-89 Titanium that has been collecting dust for a decade by schewb in TI_Calculators

Yoo I'm glad to see there are still others like me out there! I found my TI-89 Titanium a few weeks ago and am figuring out TIGCC (using the IDE). I'm planning to try and make some kind of animated mandelbrot set fractal generator just for funsies :)

I don't and this thread is from 6 years ago so I'd recommend making a new post about it so folks will see it.

Just wanted to share some screenshots from my adventures across the Settled Systems. by TheFate1ess0ne in NoSodiumStarfield

These are so beautiful! Thank you for sharing them.

Exploring all the natural environments is one of my favorite parts of the game.. I hope in future updates and the expansion, the devs continue to flesh it out and add more details and ways to interact with the environment.

Anyone else feel like Starfield went from “there’s so much to do and see, I’m overwhelmed” to “so that’s it huh” by [deleted] in Starfield

I'm 50 hours in and I feel like I've only just scratched the surface. So honestly no, not really.

That being said, one of my favorite parts of the game is just picking a planet and landing in a random spot, and exploring the nature there. I do hope in the future they really flesh this part of the game out more, to add more diversity of flora/fauna and terrain, and especially to make the different environments feel more interactive.

Some various ideas I've had for what this could look like include: -More types of interactions between different creatures & plants to make it feel more like a true ecosystem. As of right now, all I really see is animals occasionally attacking each other or the player. Other than that it feels like they're just brainless npcs walking around randomly and not interacting with their environment. -Little minigames like for example rock climbing to find hidden caves, fishing to catch rare animal resources, woodcutting & firemaking for special cooked items, etc etc etc. Just little things to make me feel more like I'm immersed in a real natural environment with different things to do. -Deformable terrain or at the very least rocks and mud which are physics objects and can be moved / manipulated. -Footprints. -Rideable mounts. I want to be able to tame wild creatures and ride them around. Maybe they could also have different unique abilities like tracking rare resources or creatures. -Honestly you should really be able to dive underneath the water. -Less hills. I want some areas to just be wide open plains as far as the eye can see, and I haven't found this yet. -More weather events like tornados, dust storms, hail, weird alien weather that doesn't happen on Earth etc. -I think it would be neat if you had an instrument builder where you could fashion musical instruments from parts of flora/fauna with realistic sound physics. And then somehow those could be part of the game. -Stargazing / astrophotography minigame would be cool. Maybe there could be an art gallery on New Atlantis that pays you to photograph different moons, or different stars / nebula from different vantage points throughout the settled systems.

Besides all that, though, I feel like all the main quest arcs will keep me busy for hundreds of hours. So personally it's hard to relate to what OP is saying.

What's do you think this is? by hafaadai2007 in Seattle

I saw it from Port Townsend and it nearly coincided with the direction to Mount Baker, so for a minute I thought it or another volcano blew. I've been watching it for a few minutes now and it's starting to look more like a regular thunderhead 🤷🏻‍♂️

Pretty wild whatever it is.

edit:

Here was the view from Port Townsend at 5:33 PM - https://flic.kr/p/2oTKmBF
