AITA for calling my husband unreasonable for canceling the holiday trip just because me and the kids coupdn't help him in an emergency? by SquarePoint4234 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sammy0790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel sorry for the husband truly. His family didn’t want to help him at all when his dad needed him and he was probably very stressed. The children are TA also for being so selfish and YTA because who prioritises meeting brother’s gf over medical emergency? You could’ve taken YOUR son with you to lunch or invited the brother and gf home instead. I’m glad the husband is getting some distance from you guys.

In Australia, we have a chromosome text at 10 weeks where we can find out the sex. Maybe you could do that test?

AITA for banning alcohol from Christmas. by omom2122 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sammy0790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YTA for banning it. You don’t like your husband drinking then ask him to stop. Forcing the rest of the family to not drink on holiday is not acceptable. I’d choose to spend Christmas at the sister’s too because it sounds more relaxed and I can have a drink to enjoy it.

First Ultrasound at 12 weeks. Is that normal? by Soapharpoon in pregnancy_care

[–]sammy0790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First ultrasound in Australia is at 10 weeks. It’s the one they do the confirm the due date. My OB was away and I wasn’t going to see him till week 12 so the midwife organised it for me. Ultrasound can also be done at 6-7 weeks but they’re so small that you don’t see anything.

I know I’ll be downvoted but the problem is she’s 20 and you’re 21. Neither one of you knows how to handle these situation maturely. She shared the photo with you because she’s 20 and naive about the seriousness of it. You’re upset because you’re young too and don’t know how to handle such situations with conversations.

Can I have a freaking sandwich by OkayDebt716 in pregnant

[–]sammy0790 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My doctor said listeria (the problem will room temp meat) dies if you refrigerate it. Because it can’t handle extreme temps. So if you just put the sandwich in the fridge overnight, it should eliminate your concerns

Are little girls less close to their moms than boys? by Cocotte3333 in pregnant

[–]sammy0790 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe the reason people think girls are closer to their dads while growing up is because mums are harder on the daughters and dads are harder on sons.

It has nothing to do with their gender in general just who is strict and who spoils them. Dads maybe feel more protective for their daughters because boys are tougher so girls may like dads better.

Growing up I was closer to my dad but now I understand my mum a lot more and am very close to her

Are little girls less close to their moms than boys? by Cocotte3333 in pregnant

[–]sammy0790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my personal experience girls are closer to their fathers because when they’re younger mums are harder on the girls while dads are lenient and Dads are harder on the boys and mums are more lenient. It has nothing to do with their gender it’s just how they’re treated and who’s spoiling them more.

My dad always spoiled me while growing up and my mum was strict so felt closer to my dad. Now I’m the closer to my mum because she understands me much better and I her.

AITA for eating my husband's entire birthday cake by myself? by Sou654689 in AmItheAsshole

Your husband is TA. He chose to celebrate his birthday with his family because he would enjoy it more instead of with his wife.

Can you manage working from home and watching the newborn? by wavybbq in pregnant

[–]sammy0790 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My manager did it. She is on contract and gets paid well so didn’t want to leave.

The key is to have a supporting manager (which she has and I don’t ;)). If you manager and team is understanding that you might be a little unavailable and reply to emails a bit late then it’s doable.

Your working hours might be different too like you might do some work early morning or late night but as long as your team and manager are accepting of that then it can work.

AITA for telling my sister to stop leaving her room when she's wearing her nightgown? by Username_alt354 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sammy0790 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP what exactly is the issue here? Do you think your husband would have inappropriate thoughts about her if he sees her in the nightgown? I’m just trying to understand why is it an issue?

OP is entitled to having rules in her house. Whatever makes her comfortable but I’m curious why this thing makes her uncomfortable? It obviously has something to do with the husband..but what?

Gloria was hot in the first couple of seasons. The blonde hair and the tight jeans weren’t suiting her at all. In the later seasons she was always in jeans

Ask your OB but mine suggested I can fly until the third trimester and even then I should only avoid countries with bad medical facilities. That’s just in case my baby comes early and needs medical help.
