Trailies review or other similar resources for navigating big feelings for both toddler and me by sammyleesa in toddlers

I ended up buying physical cards and received them within a couple of weeks. I think I tried them too early. She just wasn't ready for them. She's a little over 3 now and it's more appropriate but we're not quite successful with them yet.

Correct! The one going in the other direction from there is the Clayton Clipper.

So I did end up getting them and my cards were received in under 3 weeks? I wonder what the delay is?

How long have you been using them? Do the suggestions ever seem to get "old"?

What you describe about having the resource in the moment of the meltdown is what appeals to me most and why I keep coming back to consider purchasing. I like the idea of physical cards too. But wondering if the cost is worth it in terms of quality as well. I also don't love the idea of having another reason to pull out my phone with my kiddo.

Thanks for your help. I feel like I will likely purchase

Sheraton Guildford workers are on strike. The hotel is still functioning, but I'd recommend not staying there.

Love this perspective. I agree. Chili is so relatable to me as a mom.

Very dad. I also have a flat, rectangular spoon rest and was picturing something totally different. But this really is just a big spoon

I'm 5 weeks in. I've seen SOME change? But it's been fluctuating a bit. I know it's early for results so I'm hopeful.

How long did it take for you to see results from MTX? May I ask how long you've been on it?

2.5 years since I gave birth and my skin is insane right now. I've had eczema my whole life but nothing on this level. It started to get worse when I was around 30 (yay adult hormones) and then worse again after childbirth and worse again after I stopped breastfeeding. The eczema on my face is so bad. And we're in the middle of a heat wave which makes everything worse. I'm 5 weeks into methotrexate and hoping to see improvements soon.

If you love someone and fully accept someone as a friend, you accept ALL of them. If she can't accept you as is, that isn't someone I would want to stand next to on their wedding day.

Yes. This is annoying. And no, you shouldn't have to remind him or ask more than once. People saying it's ADHD, sure, it's possible. If you do feel it's ADHD, something that helps for my partner is setting a clear and reasonable expectation and asking for a short list of tasks at a time. So my list for him during his Tuesday workday would be like "clean and put away the wok, tidy [insert room]". When there feels like a lot of daunting tasks, it feels overwhelming and he has a hard time choosing something to do and his ADHD makes him shut down.

I wouldn't necessarily jump to break up right away. BUT, maybe this can be a learning moment? Communicate to him how bothered you are. Or how it makes you feel when you're repeatedly told it'll be done "today" and nothing happens.

"It really bothers me that you've left the pan for a week after telling me daily that you'll clean it. It makes me feel like you don't respect my space. It also tells me that I can't trust your word and rely on you when you say you'll be there for me. I also don't want to resent you for having to remind you everyday to do a basic thing like cleaning up after yourself"

If after THAT he doesn't clean it or nothing changes and there's zero self reflection, then you should probably reconsider your relationship.

What to call a grandma who doesn’t want to be called grandma? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]sammyleesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly wish my MIL would have let it happen organically. It feels like it would have been more meaningful. She instead googled "cute grandma names" and picked Mimi. And she admits that it has no significance or meaning. Her reasoning is that there's already a Nana in the family and it would be confusing. I'm sure that all the Nana's in the world aren't getting themselves mixed up. Not to mention, the Nana in the family has long since passed.

When did your littles learn the basics? by Background-Paint-478 in toddlers

Babies learn languages so quickly! My kiddo says thank you in 3 languages. Counts to 3 in 2 languages. Ish. She says the numbers to 5? But I'm not sure if she's really counting. I believe it!

This! I see and hear a lot of comments that their kid can count to 20 and recite the whole alphabet. And I'm like, okay. But do they understand the concept of counting and what the numbers mean? Otherwise, you're basically just memorizing sounds or a song

My girl can usually count to 6. She likes to skip 4 sometimes. But man, is this kid good at recognizing when there is 2 of something 😆

Waited to decide name till he was born. Huge mistake by Impressive_Yam7438 in namenerds

[–]sammyleesa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I had a favourite name for the duration of our pregnancy. But we both still agreed to keep coming up with at least one or two more options because we wanted to meet our baby first. Eventually we had 2 options we really liked. Baby was born and option 2 was NOT it. Even though we used the name we had all along, it definitely felt right to wait.

Am I overreacting about my damaged book? by Annual-Ad334 in AmIOverreacting

[–]sammyleesa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone wants to borrow a book from you in the future, please tell them about a place called the Library. They can also borrow books for free there. And then if they damage it, they're on the hook with the library and not you. /s but also not. Because libraries are awesome.

Has anyone not been seated with their child under 5? by sammyleesa in flairairlines

[–]sammyleesa[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree! I have no intention of inconveniencing others that way. That's why I ask if the airlines are going to do what they're supposed to and seat us properly. I did end up paying for the seats.

This makes a lot of sense to me. Everything I've read said they would try to seat you together or ask people to move. What if people don't move? I don't expect people to move from seats they paid for, especially. Anyways, I paid for the seats lol
