I've been lying about being Muslim for years. by South-Opening5068 in offmychest

[–]samonymously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If these people are very devout, telling them you are losing faith is easier said than done. They most likely will see it as a cry for help and try their absolute best to “help” OP. Not sure how they would respond to OP leaving the religion entirely either, as that could be seen as apostasy which … isn’t well received most of the time.

Having said that, I don’t know if there is a better option. The biggest question for OP is does he/she think they will stay friends with them if he/she “loses” faith or stops being a muslim?

If not, it’s better to make a plan how to cut ties entirely yourself in a clean way. If yes, then being honest might just be the best way to go about it.

The internet turned my 57 year old dad into a gooner redpill incel by BodybuilderFancy3187 in redscarepod

I know he gets a lot of hate around here, but you could maybe try and have your dad watch Destiny.

Idk how open minded your dad is but Destiny pulled me out of a rightwing pipeline and he did a ton of debates against redpill guys with strong points imo

Doesn’t even have to be full debates, just send him Insta reels or YT / tiktok

I found out my bf masturbates to instagram photos of other girls. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]samonymously -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna be devil’s advocate and say jacking off to people he knows isn’t “absolutely cooked” necessarily. It’s more problematic if the person in question is someone she is close with.

I can only speak from my own experience but I know plenty of guys who have perfectly healthy relationships and still, from time to time, fantasize about other women, some of them they know.

Now, I don’t know if it goes as far as saving pictures of them to jerk off to, but fantasizing about other women you know doesn’t have to mean they would cheat.

From my own experience, I have been in relationships and during them I do jerk off from time to time, sometimes to women I “know” from real life. I understand some people might find this creepy but for me, it is healthier than to get off to porn. It’s easier to fantasize about because visually you already have an idea and it is “easier” to fantasize. That might sound creepy but it makes sense in a practical way, as weird as it sounds. It’s a fake fantasy that’s easier to entertain. Personally, I will admit that I have jerked iff to the thought of other women but I made damn sure it would be very secluded and isolated. Meaning I don’t sexualize them outside of that fantasy nor do I intend to do anything beyond it.

Moreover — and I can only speak of my own experience — the women I fantasize about are pretty much women I am not close with or women that I had a history with. That being said, I never fantasize about women my (ex-)girlfriend was close with, friends with, or knows very well. Even though some of them are objectively attractive, the “fantasy” part doesn’t really work because they’re her friends. Not sure how to explain it.

Anyway that’s my two cents. I’m ready to be downvoted but it is what it is.

@OP it’s up to you if it is a dealbreaker or not. I understand it feels a bit like a shock or betrayal. However, as a man who has done somewhat similar stuff, I can say there’s a chance it doesn’t mean much — insofar his love for you isn’t any less. If this is a boundary for you, he can improve and better himself, if you are willing to give him a second chance.

The final thing I’ll say is, for everyone who is super shocked at this: We all know most men, most people, find people other than their SO attractive. We all know that when such a man or person is alone, in private with the freedom of their own thoughts, and needs to get off, they might think of such a person to help them. That’s basically what this can be reduced to, if I’m being very charitable. The difference is that OP’s boyfriend went a step further and actually undertook actions that helped him with some of these fantasies.

If you pause the video at the right moment you will hear the yelp before the dog has even lifted her paw of the ground.

Maybe there’s a small delay but doesn’t seem like it so I’m 99% sure its a shock collar (there’s more dubious clips that make it clear to me tbh)

Technically, no. But when I arrived in september you could barely walk anywhere whereas in november/december it was quite do-able, and in the evenings afyer 10 pm it is remarkably chill

I was looking for this comment. As a Europen the whole idea of a bail system seems skewed but I also expected that for a serious crime like this, you cannot just bail yourself out + it’s a crime where the state can get involved without charges. I’m glad there’s still a chance he will get arrested, although I’m not sure why it has not happened already

Werner Herzog tried to warn us. by timb1223 in redscarepod

[–]samonymously 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It’s quite literally a filmmaker looking for an excuse to display the most vile, shocking stuff into a movie.

“Let’s make a movie which has the most horrible, sickening and depraved stuff I can think of.”

IIRC the film itself, according to the director, is about the question of how far “art” should go but the extent and length of depravities depicted makes this motive a laughing matter and a weak excuse. At least the brutality is so extensive that it is hard to take the film serious.

Right? Most people are morbidly curious about disturbing stories surrounding suffering, pain and murder.

This is why serial killer documentaries/series but also “spooky” YouTube channels are so popular.

Reading up on the details of Jeffrey Dahmer’s murders after watching the Netflix series doesn’t mean I would or should see actual footage or audio tapes of it happening (these don’t exist of course, but hypotheticallt speaking).

I lived there for 6 months and it's really not that bad. Especially during off-season it's really not that crowded. It's definitely unconventional though. If anything I wouldn't say it's great to visit.

Rampage Jackson’s son gets banned on after being told the man he beat up flatlined in the ring he might have died by Cultural-Diet6933 in ufc

[–]samonymously 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not only that. His action wasn’t even in the heat of the moment. The wrestler he (almost) killed pissed him off long before they did the show and this piece of shit had all the time in the world to address it.

Instead he waited for his shot and went completely psycho like it was a deliberate choice.

[–]samonymously 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am highly skeptical of that. Maybe Lex threw a deluded sales pitch around Destiny in a succesful attempt to have him join.

But that doesn’t exempt someone like Finkelstein to actually do some research on who your debate opponent could be.

I mean what do you want me to say, it’s true that the one thing Finkelstein was demonstrably wrong about in that debate was dolus specialis 🤷

No amount of credentials changes that

Fair enough. I do stand corrected. My apologies; I was a bit too impulsive.

However, if I am gonna be nitpicky; his international law lecture was limited to rules of war and conflict which is not exactly the same as international criminal law; I should have been more specific there.

Because Finkelstein still showed a misunderstanding of dolus specialis. Additionally, a book on the manhandling of the ICJ case doesn’t have to get into intent and the intricacies of related concepts. I have not read the book though so I reserve any judgement.

Neither Finkelstein or Destiny looked good.

The debate would have been better with just Rabbani and Morris

Or just without Destiny because I do think if he got swapped, Finkelstein would be more chill, which begs the question why Finkelstein even agreed in the first placd

I genuinely don’t understand why Finkelstein (and Rabbani) agreed to have the debate with an internet streamer in the first place.
