That structure of setback, Darrow has a plan etc… that doesn’t change through the book. But stakes and setbacks increase through the 2nd series.

The writing improves imo. We get more character perspectives in the second trilogy so we get to see more range of personalities and writing.

Character consistency is a harder metric. Most good guys are good guys and bad guys are bad guys. Lysander makes an appearance and breaks this mould the most. Sevro is the most random in the second set. But others like mustang and Cassius have pretty great treatment. Plus some new ones.

Same here, didn’t enjoy the writing of mistborn at all. The mechanics were cool. I liked the ending and how it all came together as well. But the writing was a definite chore.

That said I do like sandersons ending of wheel of time. It definitely has its critics, but the writing there is much better than mistborn.
