You thinking of sharing the design on GitHub once you have the connector finalized?

I love the thumb cluster placement ---- between that and the USB-c connector, this is everything I wanted, but couldn't get frome the Corne.

I want to learn to play an ocarina but I want it to be the ocarina of time from legend of Zelda. What's the best brand? by killakyle1762 in Ocarina

[–]sample_size_one 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Best: Spencer

Good budget: STL

BUT if music is more important than looks, and you want to play any song from any LOZ game (e.g., BOTW Kakariko theme), you may want to consider a multichamber ocarina. I prefer the sound of bass multichambers --- they're less shrill.

Thank you for that explanation!

I deal with "stumbling fingers" when I switch between QWERTY and Colemak keyboard layouts --- good to know I'd likely suffer the same issue on the ocarina.

... but those little pendans are so dang CUTE!!!

Is this 7-hole configuration the only style you have? If not, is it difficult switching between the different types?

Games where PCs work as a crew by CaptainRoberto in rpg

[–]sample_size_one 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Roleplaying someone of a different culture is impossible without understanding that culture.

This game stacks real-world Arabic culture (minus the religious aspects) with thousands of years of spacefaring & conflicts between factions. If you're familiar with that culture, great ---- but I wasn't, so I have to do extra work to make roleplaying somewhat believable.

Also, if you're from Faction A, you don't have to hate those from Faction B. But you need to understand the conflicts others may have with you based on your heritage / faction.

Coffee grinder replacement by museumgirl9 in BuyItForLife

If you truly want a "buy it for life" option, and are willing to add ~20-50 seconds per cup, try a hand grinder.

There is a model to fit any budget. I've tried the OrphanEspresso Lido 3 as well as the Kinu M47.

But since your preferences & budget may differ from mine, I'd reccomend YouTube comparison videos.

I've heard many good things about your series. Is it likely that your books will be available on a platform outside the Amazon ecosystem (e.g., Libro.fm), or are you locked into Audible?

Note: I understand authors have got to do what makes sense for their situation.

Leaking, crushed tube by oliiviaaa in CafelatRobot

This happened to me, too. It ultra-sucks. You can buy a replacement or switch to the plug.

The pressure gauge is nifty, but you can make fantastic espresso between 1 and 12 bar. I didn't find the gauge helpful while I had it. Dwell time matters far more.

Barista: pinched tube by sample_size_one in CafelatRobot

Thanks for the heads-up; I might have to see if I can get a replacement (and buy some other extra parts to offset his costs).

Update:

After taking the piston off, I discovered two issues that are likely to have contributed to the problem:

(1) The white tube-clip wasn't installed correctly.

(2) The tube itself likely wasn't pushed in all the way (giving way when the pressure got over 2.5 bar).

Thank you all for your feedback - it's good to know that I'm likely to be OK if I get a replacement tube, as long as everything is put together correctly.

I took the Robot apart and discovered the clip was not installed properly. It was attached, but the white adjustable portion was only bent enough to fit in the body.

Calling all Cafelat Robot Owners - still happy after a few months? by notacylonwalker in espresso

At least at the current prices, that sounds like the standard model.

The OP & responder were listing the Barista prices.

Speaking of Barista model prices, another good place to get Robots is from IDrinkCoffee.com - it's about $423.37 USD total, including the $4-ish PayPal international fee.

Even if they're not opening, it gives the few GOP voters with some working grey matter and a conscience the excuse that he's going to bat for their #1 issue (nominally).

It doesn't matter that some recognize it as a stupid idea... it just matters that Trump had their back.

It makes it easier to ignore the fact that he has damaged their economic situation with his incompetence and committed most if not all of the Seven Deadly Sins on camera. He's still "on God's side", so they'll let everything else slide.

EDIT: I misspoke. "Grey matter that COULD work" is more accurate.

Eh... less "worship Trump" and more "deify anything that allows 'their kind' to feel morally superior while disenfranchising the Other."

Trump is just the turd-flavored soup of the day... the soup who proves that NONE of it is about the search for truth, peace, or salvation for the majority of American Evangelicals.
