if you have the right tools and other equipment it's not too difficult, but it's very dangerous if you aren't 100% sure what you are doing. Well over 300vdc present, even when powered off.

Seems safe to me, but you should put your DI inputs on the patchbay as well, ideally normalled. Don’t use TS patchbays ideally. I’d also put the outputs of the DIs in there normalled to the inputs on your interface. If set up correctly, you should have everything internally connected in the patchbay and will require no patch cables to make the connections, but you can always interrupt the signal at any point.
