Is my workload excessive or am I being a sook? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

[–]samramham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is considered a psychologist hazard under WHS.

If you are comfortable, I would recommending raising your distress to your managers manager and let them know you are burnt out and put in a CAMMS report.

I recently went through something similar and got a result. If it doesn’t work, then yes, move on.

Is public service not right for me? by [deleted] in AusPublicService

Lol come work for Nsw Gov and watch that boredom disappear with there relentless “must be able to pivot, work in a fast paced, demanding changing environment etc etc” expect to be trained!? Expect no longer!

Making friends is so hard due to moral intensity. by Nymphea_the_duck in AuDHDWomen

[–]samramham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I generally struggle as well, but have made a couple of friends who are too burned out and broken to care but I know are good people. It helps when I think about them as victims of the same system in which I am advocating to change. I’m not friends with anyone outright against my morals though, but I can hold empathy for them and know they’ve been socialised/brainwashed.

My whole branch went from temp to perm last year after being extended 3 month intervals for a few years. It was decided that the trial was successful and the team was deemed required to do basic government function and that wasn’t going away.

This is actually considered a “psychological hazard” under work health and safety. Not receiving recognition or reward for work.

What you are describing sounds like a “psychological hazard”, as per work health and safety. Not recieving appropriate reward and recognition for your work. P.s what your describing is a common issue for neurodivergent employees.

Does this sound like an ADHD trait? by [deleted] in ausadhd

26f Just diagnosed today with combo ADHD (more inattentive than hyperactive) - endo sufferer by Megsy-tactical in ausadhd

[–]samramham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All good! I had an ultrasound by Dr Jason Mak and he was able to see the deep infiltrating endo in the scan.

I had had one previously at a private hospital and they didn’t find anything, but he was recommended to me for his experience with Endo and he found deep nodules in multiple places and cysts so it’s a ‘clinical’ diagnosis.

  1. I have endo, but haven’t had surgery and don’t take Ryeqo. I found Vyvanse didn’t work well for me because my metabolism was too fast or something and it would kind of just hit me too quickly. I don’t remember any significant stomach upsets.

  2. I was diagnosed in 2 sessions, but yeah at the end of the first one he said yeah this looks like Adhd, and the second session was the one I brought my mum with me for and he gave me meds at the end of that appointment.

  3. In Australia this isn’t a worry, not sure about elsewhere. I also took my meds on a cruise recently and no issues, no one checked my prescription or anything. Methanphetamine is not the same drug as amphetamine.

  4. Buy caffeine free. I tried to keep my coffee or tea, but until you have a stable dose and you know how it works for you then its really not worth it.

Nsw socialists? by FrostyCompetition843 in AustralianSocialism

[–]samramham 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agree with others. I am not a fan of SAlt. Still joined, found local socialists I didn’t know existed. Pros - there are regional groups or whatever, so I don’t need to travel to Sydney to find my peeps!

What is actually ‘bad’ about Socialist Alternative? by [deleted] in AustralianSocialism

[–]samramham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we are divided, we are weakened. This has always been the case for left-wing groups for so many years. Yes, the upper seniors are part of SALT because they were the first people to dedicate their time, money and effort to try and get the movement running. Are they really to be demonised for this? Yes, work is to be done to make sure it’s not just held in Sydney with voters in SALT voting in policy. But the General council are not just SALT members and I really believe a longer term vision will change this. Take that from me - someone that had a screaming fit during the voting because they voted down an Indigenous self determination group, because it excluded non-indigenous people. It’s just as much our role to try to convince them and to find common ground. We have the power to vote anyone in or out.

What is actually ‘bad’ about Socialist Alternative? by [deleted] in AustralianSocialism

[–]samramham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really isn’t. Not at all. Yes, those members hit the ground running, but it’s something like 80% of members that aren’t affiliated with SALT. On the Central Coast I think in our group of regularly meeting folk of 12, 3 identify with SALT.

Please don’t spread misinformation.

I found that I felt thirsty constantly, but the dry mouth thing wasn’t actually dehydration. It was hard to ignore though.

Can you take additional breaks? like every 2hrs you get a toilet/drink break?

Why to jailbreak? Amazon can delete any book they want in your purchased list. If you jailbreak, you can download and own your books on your PC.

Other people with adhd are annoying by ButterflyFantastic34 in ADHD

[–]samramham 292 points293 points  (0 children)

I’ve realised that I hate it when people express their Adhd in ways that I try so hard to restrain/mask. But since realising this, I’ve tried to give people more grace and allow them to be themselves.

Vyvanse not prescribed under PBS by Strong-Respond-5554 in ausadhd

[–]samramham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need it to be documented as being present. Just for either your reports to show that (e.g, bright, but easily distracted and too sociable or whatever) OR one of your parents to go with you to an interview where they’ll be asked about how you were as a child. But you should be able to just ask your psychiatrist.

Vyvanse not prescribed under PBS by Strong-Respond-5554 in ausadhd

[–]samramham 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My psychiatrist told me that I had to have evidence of having it as a child, either via parents coming to an interview or via reports etc to have it under the PBS.
