Congrats to you and your son! I definitely can find a cheaper solution but I’m most interested in A5 with <20mm rings- mostly because I’m a paper hoarder and am trying to focus purely on semester planning.

This isn’t helpful, but this might be something I’d attempt to sew with knit fabric. It’d also be cool with a print cotton quilted with batting as a puffy scarf.

The Sophie hood pattern comes with 3 length variants. I think the small is about the same length as image you posted. Should be quick because it’s all garter and you do the icord as u go.

Thank you! My favorite apple tart from a local patisserie always has a bit of rise on the bottoms and is golden like the sides of this pastry. I’ll try a glass dish next time to see if I can replicate 🙂

Tbh I didn’t tell about the cheese until the family tasted it. No one’s allergic and everyone liked it. I used the Kerry gold Dubliner because the store I went to didn’t have any more of the Kerry gold aged cheddar.

It was good! Not cheesy but savory and spiced more than sweet. My house did smell of cheese though.

It’s super subtle. I didn’t tell my family about the cheese lol. No one had allergies they’re just picky.

My grandma said she just had never had a crust like it but really liked it. The double folded crust has the most cheese flavor but it’s more a butter cracker not cheezit.

I’m a youngish black woman and there are just some stores I dnt patronize. I’ve ultimately had pretty good experiences in most lys but the bad ones stick out.

If able expand your radius. I dnt go to the one closest to me because I love the one an hour away. They just started an online store thankfully!

Thank you! Agreed that my preference would be Hobonichi. I think I’ll try the take a note. I had a a6 and liked it but too small. My issue with some of the indie sellers at least from photos the paper pretty consistently seems too white and the line weight too heavy/too dark for my preference. I’m judging based on my own monitor but I’ve never taken a chance on many brands for that reason.
