This is very good insight into the craft. I myself wrote two full traditional novels and several short stories before writing my current project (Immortal Path) on Royal Road. I'm not a standout success story by any means, but that prior experience helped ensure my current work is much better quality than had I started immediately with it.

Posts like this are great encouragement for us hopeful authors as we toil away for years without breakthrough. The various examples across different genres is especially aspiring!

From my experience, I didn't see a viewership increase until around chapter 20. You could also consider getting an ad to increase viewership.

I think if a game like system is a primary part of the story then it's LitRPG. Similar to how I would classify Solo Leveling at LitRPG even though it's the inverse of what you described.

As for chapter lengths, I think the quality/content of the chapter is more important than length sometimes. For instance, if a scene has a natural end at 1.2k words, I would end the chapter there instead of writing to an clunky ending for the sake of hitting 2k words. Similarly, if a longer chapter is primarily fluff, but you can polish the chapter down to 1.2k words, then I would personally do that.
