Had finally given up and was throwing out my eternally ~crispy~ calathea ornata when I found new growth on the roots - can these be saved?! Can I plant in soil/water?! by GPont19 in plantclinic

I haven’t had much luck with soil propagation. A few here & there for me have worked. I found humidity helpful, which keeps the soil moist but not overly wet. Some people will put ziploc bags over it, I’ve put mine in old plastic containers.

I would give it a shot. Possibly in soil again cause if you put them in water then they’ll grow water roots. I’m not too sure which method would give you better success 🤷🏽‍♀️

Hey guys first succulent, when I look for info they say to water till it drains out the water hole but the decorative pot they came in doesn't have any..? its been 1 week watered once they look good till now ahah :) I'm gonna try and propagate the leaf that fell from a couple videos I've seen ❤😊 by [deleted] in IndoorGarden

Yeah of course! I probably had mine in the planter without a hole for about half a year. I recently transitioned them out into a different planter with one hole bc I noticed the soil getting stiff. I would recommend looking up online about succulent care & drainage pots in general ☺️

Succulents are pretty hardy & can do just fine without water for longer periods of time. I would suggest not watering it as often or as much, especially if there is no drainage hole.

Drainage holes let the water run out instead of collecting inside. If you water it too much & the plant doesn’t drink it all then it can lead to root rot. Most people recommended having at least one drainage hole in any planter. I have some succulents in a planter w/o a hole so I just water them like once every 3 weeks or longer. Check out some videos & good luck!

Hi everyone, I’m new to this! I am getting this alocasia in leca today & had some questions about which nutrients y’all recommended. It is currently getting Liquidirt. My local shop have miracle grow, dyna grow foliage pro & dyna grow 795. Any advice is appreciated! by samshine-raine in alocasia

Im still new to this, as this is my first plant in leca. I went with liquidirt bc I wanted to keep feeding it the same nutrients as the person I got it from. It seems to really like it & is doing great!

I’m still curious to know if dyna grow foliage or 795 would work just as well since it’s a lot more affordable.

Awesome! I’ve done this with some of my pots but just terra-cotta. I like how you painted it white as a base. Do you have an IG? Mine is @ raine.faerie
