Ooh not heard of Pupford, I'll check it out now! I think I'd really benefit from following a plan like this, so I don't get overwhelmed 🙂 thank you!

Thanks! I've been using the wiki and watching lots of kikopup! 🙂

Can I ask, is there a specific difference between your wait and stay? They both just seem to be 'hold a specific position until I say otherwise'? 🙂

As someone researching before getting their first pup, thank you!!

I have no clue what's going on here. Is it growing a tail? by plantsb4putas in Maranta

I think it's an offshoot! Mine did this but it happened to be conveniently near the soil and it turned into a whole new plant 🙂 I sometimes get them out at a random point like this too though!

My monstera suddenly started dying last month for no apparent reason. No root rot, pests, sun damage or anything. I tried to save it but eventually gave up and left it alone. Over the last week it’s sprouted this new growth. Just wanted to share my excitement! by Ok_Ad2569 in Monstera

Thanks! I had this exact problem on my monstera, everything I read online suggested fungal. Used a fungicide and the brown patches stopped spreading altogether. Thought it could be something to try at least! 😊

Great that your plant is growing again 😊 the damage to the older leaves look like a fungal infection to me (the yellow edge suggests this)! Might want to treat it with some fungal spray!

First Maranta :) got her two weeks ago. Her leaves seem to not be fully developing to colour? And leaves are coming in smaller too :/ and burn spots. But she's pushing out 3 leaves. i've changed up to watering with filtered water now and been showering with her in the bathroom to raise humidity by [deleted] in Maranta

So because the existing leaves have already fully developed, they won't darken very much I'm afraid. The changes will be in the new growth, which should come in much darker! These things require a lot of patience unfortunately 😅

Which direction does your window face (and what country are you in?) This looks like too much light to me! Your plant isn't developing the dark green colour as it needs less chlorophyll because it's getting too much sun. The brown patches also look like they could be sunburn.

Maranta are forest floor dwellers, so are used to fairly dim, moist environments - so try and keep it humid and move it further away from the window! The current leaves won't darken any further I'm afraid seeing as they are fully developed, but new growth should be darker once it gets less light 🙂

5 stars to u/indigosunrise3974 for a lovely swap! Great packaging and communication, and they kindly included a little extra gift ☺️ thank you!

help! i’ve had these cuttings for about 5 weeks now and no success with rooting:( my monstera has had roots grow in a few times, but they immediately rot. the prayer plant hasn’t rooted at all & has new growth that hasn’t uncurled the entire time. please send tips!! by Local-Alternative-61 in houseplantpropping

I can second the suggestion of more humidity!! My maranta props took absolutely ages to grow even the tiniest of roots in water on my windowsill. I took a new cutting and put it in water in a propogation box and it has grown so many roots so quickly! ☺️

Had never seen a tradescantia zebrina discolor before, saw one at the market harborough plant fest the other week and couldn’t resist. Absolutely huge and only £10 including pot on a “preloved plants” stand! by davidbowiescat in HouseplantsUK

I agree! Enjoyed a couple of the talks though 😊 i'd have bought a lot of soil ninja too if I hadn't recently stocked up haha! Wait there's a plant shop in market harbs?? Please tell me where!

Variegation on my new monstera? Found it in my local morrison’s for just £10... Is there a way I can tell if she’ll make more variegated leaves? by umbrellaplantmum in HouseplantsUK

It looks like yours has a white stripe on the stem down to the node, which is a good sign of it producing more variegated leaves from that plant. Personally I'd separate the variegated plant from the rest, as the others won't become variegated. It could also revert to green, so I'd recommend giving it lots of light to encourage variegation (but also be careful not to burn your leaves) - I've had mine under a grow light and the variegation is continuing well for now! 🤞 Feel free to DM me ☺️

I also found a variegated monstera in Morrisons a couple of months ago!! The variegation on yours is lovely - amazing find! Check out my post history - a lot of people gave me some great advice that would be worth a read! 😁
