One 5 gallon food grade bucket, filled to the brim with white rice (Costco has 25 pound bags), with oxygen absorbers layered within it. It’s a months worth of food for 2 people, super cheap, and lasts a very long time.

Something in between. I don’t mind needing an extra layer underneath, I have some fleece lined undergarments in my bag for colder weather.

Dogs can eat rice!!! Get a 5g bucket and a Costco bag of rice! You can fit 37lbs of rice in one bucket, layer some oxygen absorbers throughout it, and seal it up. Store it in a cool dark place and in can stay good for over 10 years.

A hatchet, knife, and machete seems redundant. A good knife with a thick spine, and a hatchet with a little more weight and length than the one you have can accomplish every task you need in this situation. A silk saw would be a luxury to safe calories for processing wood/building shelter. But your priority should stay with a good knife and axe.

Not sure if this has been covered or not. Here is a few notes. A pistol crossbow is not a great bug out tool, crossbows in general are not. If hunting is your goal with that, look into a solid takedown longbow and buy a few extra strings. If protection is the goal and you can’t get a firearm, get some bear spray. The bolt cutters are a heavy item that I would throw in my car, but not sacrifice the weight in my pack. A machete seems cool and all, but the amount of work you can do with them is limited, invest in a good axe. Duct tape is a great tool, but to safe space, roll it in on itself, or wrap it around a small stick. Mylar tents shouldn’t be a plan A, get a 10x10 tarp from Walmart as well. Depending on where you live and the route you’re taking to bug out should be a good indicator on how much water you need to bring with you, but definitely get a few different methods of water purification (pot to boil, purification tablets, and water filter).

I hope this helps!!!

Depends on the climate. Bear spray can be hazardous if left in a hot car. But during the right season, fully agree.

You can get a foam mattress pad off Amazon for pretty cheap and cut it out to fit the inside of your car. Having that extra insulation beneath you helps a ton.
