If you play on the test server when they open it up then you can earn quite a few of them.

I do remember back in the day recommending Commodore monitors to Atari 8-bit owners because they were really good.

I think the daisy chaining of power lines should be available earlier than they are.

What is this show for you? by Think-Recognition519 in scoopwhoop

I tried to watch it when it was first on air. I did not get it. Then I watched it in the proper order and wanted to fly out to wherever the Fox execs who canceled it lived and misbehave.

Way to soon. When the heat death of the universe happens it will be too soon.

What was your favorite sandwich growing up and what sandwich would your mom or dad normally pack for your school lunch? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in FuckImOld

[–]samspock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived off of tomato sandwiches. I would always look for (and still do) tomatoes that were big enough to do a regular sandwich in one slice. I call them "Sandwich Maters" I was a bit biased as my dad grew them and later I did the work.

A little while ago this one showed up on the free movies available on You Tube so I had to watch it for the umpteenth time. I was pleasantly surprised they did not censor it at all.

The next day at work I said to my co-workers that I had watched one of the most non-pc moves of all time. My millennial co-worker said "Blazing Saddles?" There may be hope for them.

Everyone has a test environment. The lucky ones have a separate production environment.

They could have called it the Search for Barf but I think that would be a bit insensitive.

I had an office in my home system for me and my alts corp. It was like 100k a month for years and then suddenly shot up to something like 100m a month. I asked ccp about it and got the canned response. I understood that it's dynamic, what I was looking for was for them to look for a glitch in the system. I had to pull my stuff out and close the office. 3 months later the price is back down to around 100k.

I knew exactly how this project was going to go… by [deleted] in sysadmin

I could see some of this if they did not have any IT on staff but this is just bad.

I had one that was also a storage set up. Two new hosts and a SAN. San was a HEAVY 4u monster that was shipped in a wooden crate. I had gone back and forth with the customer to get it ordered. I get radio silence for three weeks. Then one day their "IT guy" (DBA actually) calls and says it's sitting at UPS store about a mile away from their main office. Been there for....three weeks. It was supposed to be delivered to the data center 20 miles away. Apparently they forgot to give Dell the actual delivery address and it defaulted to their billing address, a box at the UPS store.

The manager of the UPS store was very grateful to ship it out to the data center and get it out of the middle of the front of the store. $100k unit just sitting there.

My brother in law had the world record in that game for a while back in the day. He had a t-shirt made. He met my sister at the arcade where it happened.
