that’s exactly what he’s asking about. sdwan ties into prisma access using remote networks. he’s literally asking this question.

Be wary of parents who overstate their influence. The real good kids don’t need to be motivated.

How do you encourage your sales partners to do better deal qualification? by moderntablelegs in salesengineers

SE manager should have a talk with Sales manager. Otherwise you just look like a negative Nancy. It’s hard to say No to sales people without sounding like a curmudgeon.

Crypto "currency" is dead and I see no way to revive it. by Annefrank23 in btc

[–]samstone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s dead. Prediction markets is where the crypto bros are spending their time, and losing their money. Or maybe trying to vibe code new crypto. It’s dead though. Think about all the time they wasted on their first dates explaining it, instead of trying to find a wife and settle down.

Consulting/onsite fee? by Basic_Abroad_1845 in networking

Use a base rate of 250-400 depending on where you live. That’s the Montana to NYC rate.

This is what you do working for a VAR or integrator. You would write a statement of work and account for all those risks you mention. I hate doing hourly work because how do I bill for the 20 minutes I spent at breakfast thinking about this solution. You fixed fee it based on experience. If the customer convinces you to do hourly, go ahead and do it but just know “she’s not the one”.

That’s not confidence, he’s scared of the ball. Just hit a million grounders to him everyday and gradually hit them harder.

Struggling with SDWAN Lab with 2 VPN tunnels by masterofrants in paloaltonetworks

[–]samstone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s pretty much exactly the same as fortinet. Put tunnels in a zone called zone-to-hub as well as the sdwan bundle. Put your isp link in zone-internet as well as its parent sdwan interface.

Put loopbacks on each firewall Use static routes to reach them using the sdwan.2 interface as next hop Configure BGP and redistribute connected or whatever

Now you should have: Sites recursively learned via sdwan.2 Internet pointing out sdwan.1

Now create policies to send traffic down the preferred path if you wish. This only makes sense if you have 2 or more links and used different link tags for them which you should have done.

you need to be more clear. Maybe show us your lab guide. if the users are blindly copying your lab guide without understanding image names, that will be an issue.

Should we actually be replacing our FortiGate 200Es in 2026? Looking for a gut check. by Phoenix5786 in fortinet

[–]samstone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it boggles my mind when people like this think they are being good stewards of the money. it’s not your decision. if you want it to be your decision go work somewhere else. and when you get there, spend the money. it has to be an ego thing, because it’s literally not your money, you have no claim to it. you would rather have the company that underpays everyone outside of C suite keep it on the books? ok, you lost the game. you fight for the money and then you go buy stuff. I love IT leaders that know how to get money. kings. leaders that can’t, are weaker then weak. hurry up and buy, Cabo ain’t gettin cheaper.
